Hey everyone, miss me? I've just been owned with homework, so I really couldn't get on here much. But it's not just that, I've been on facebook quite a lot. If you want to add me, just type in Aadi Krishna in your search box. I have a Detroit, Michigan network, and an International Academy '12 network. Just make sure you PM me, so I will add you. I don't add strangers, at least most of the time. So, I built a computer the other day, it was for school. We have these things called enrichments, which we have to do six of, over the course of our four high school years. There are various ones, like building a computer, which is the first one I did, but there are others like photography, film, music through computers, you can travel to Florida and scuba dive, and a couple of my friends are traveling to Washington D.C. to see the presidential inauguration in January (Go Obama!!!!). It's like $95 per enrichment, but then there's other fees for materials and supplies and services, if they're not included. The D.C. enrichment costs about $1,200! Anyway, so I built a computer, and it's pretty cool. I got a bunch of different parts from TigerDirect, and also from Newegg and OfficeMax (the hard drive was real cheap there). It was about $1,000, but it's well worth it. There's tons of good things about building a computer. You get to learn about different parts, like how the motherboard works, how everything is connected, which processors are good, the different operating systems (only four of which I know-Windows, Mac OS Leopard, Solaris, and Linux), etc. When I was building it, this one kid told me that he went to Micro Center and talked to a guy who said that the exact same processor that I had generated too much heat, so you need a fan with copper tubing. But, it hasn't exploded yet, so I'm good. If you want to know my specs, here you go:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q 6700
Motherboard: Intel DP45SG
RAM: Corsair 2GB DDR3
Hard Drive: 500GB
Optical Drive: LiteOn CD/DVD reader & writer (don't know the model number)
Video Card: XFX GeForce 9800 GT-PCI Express 2.0
Case: Xion Onyx-Black and Green-No Power Supply-1 140mm green LED fan, 2 120mm fans
Processor Fan: PowerUp Fan (don't know the model number)
Wireless Card: Something by Hiro....(don't know the model number)
Router: Netgear RangeMax Wireless Router
Power Supply: Xion SimplePower 630 Watts
Monitor: Some Acer monitor that has 2000:1 contrast ratio and 1440x900 display
Speakers: Logitech-USB Input (don't know the model number)
Keyboard: Microsoft ComfortCurve 2000-USB
Mouse: Some USB Microsoft Mouse
Operating System-Mandriva Linux One, and currently installing Windows Vista Home Premium for a dual boot. Games: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (included with XFX GeForce 9800 GT Video Card), and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 Advanced Warfighter (included with Intel DP45SG motherboard)
So, as I said, it's pretty fast, but for some reason, my monitor won't turn on, I think I fried my video card. I have no idea how....and only on the fourth day....at least I have the warranty on it....I think....
If anyone has COD4 or Ghost Recon 2, we can play online sometime, once I get my video card is fixed (if in fact that is the problem). I can't play games during school, because I have so much homework I have no time....and my mom took it away. She also took away my iPod nano 3G, but I got it back today because we have a 5.5 day weekend. I got a phone in the beginning of August, a Samsung Glyde, with Verizon Wireless, which was pretty sweet, until I broke it. I set it on the counter in my bathroom, and I washed my hands. I reached for the towel, and when I came back, I hit my phone with my body and it fell into the sink, while the water was still running. So, wazzup with you guys? I can play a lot of Wii, now that I got it back for the weekend. Let's play online and stuff! My game collection is in my games lists on the left. I will play a lot tomorrow morning to the afternoon, then I have to go to a Halloween party, and then I have to go to a friend's birthday party on Saturday. Then I'm totally free. Give me a PM and we'll play. Longest blog post....ever.
