So in an interview today with newly-minted Microsoft director Peter Molyneux, the man behind such games as Fable, Black & White, and Theme Park, specifically mentioned giving Rare an "identity" is one of his biggest goals in working with Microsoft. He wants people to recognize what a Rare game is, and though he didn't say it implicitly, return the game developer to it's once lauded position as one of the best in the business.
What will be Rare's identity? Will it be what it once was? Will it be something entirely new? Will it be molded to the vision Microsoft has going forward or will it carve out it's own niche in the publisher's catalogue?
This video turned out to be a lot more Rare rambling than actual interesting talk but it'll get better someday.
