Can violence in movies and video games really cause violent behavior in children and teenagers? Well if it did there would

be a lot more crime and murders going on in the world. Besides what's more likely to cause someone to perform a drive

by, is it because they saw it happen in a movie, heard about it in a song, did it in a video game, or is it because their

parents weren't there to look after them and monitor what they're doing and making sure they're not influenced by the

wrong things. I've been playing games since I was three, watching R-rated film for as long as I can remember, and

listening to all types of music from Rap and Hip Hop to Death Metal. In the sixteen years of gaming I've done not once

have I had the urge to go out and rob and or kill someone just because I saw it in a game or a movie or because the

music I listen to told me to do it. "Parents have been socialized to think that cartoon violence is harmless, but it's not."-

Dr. Dimitri Christakis(Cartoons Cause Violence) When I read this I couldn't help but wonder if this ever watched a cartoon

in his life. If your letting your kids be influenced by cartoons and they're acting out as a result, then it's the parents fault

for not teaching their kids the difference from fantasy and reality.

Yeah, games, movies and cartoons can make a lot of idiots. Those who don't even know the difference between reality and fantasy are idiots. It'll be a pain to cure them.

I agree with you that if a kid mimic something they saw or did in a videogame it the parent fault for not looking over them like they should, at the same time I believe that both median can influence a kid/someone to do outlandish acts, it all depend on how the person is or response to certain thing, I hate when people(mostly gamer)just blame the parent because it seem like a scape-goat excuse so people won't put the blame on videogames and such, cause what if the kid is between 16 - 18 year old and live on his own than it not the parent fault since they don't live together, I'm just looking at it from both angle rather than one.
