if it's any consolation, my Wii:
1.last summer gave me one disc read error. I took the game out, reinserted it, everything worked fine
2.Sometimes, playing Gamecube games makes my Wii disc drive sound funny-if you listen closely it sometimes clicks.
3.A few times{maybe 3 at the most}, my Wii has crashed, or locked up while playing a Gamecube game. I had to crash the system by powering down when the game, & system weren't ready. When I turned my Wii back on, I went into the photo channel, & the system locked up. I repeated crashing the Wii, again. It seems to work fine now. this happened yesterday. Maybe your Wii will clear up. I might be able to help you, depending on the condition of your problem. Feel free to pm{personal-message me} me if your problem continues.

Oh so you can access and see the menus fine but it wont load games...does it happen with all your games or just one?
Sorry I cant help much, only thing I can say is you could get it fixed or replaced if its still on warranty, when did you buy it?

Just because the games don't work a the moment, at least it can get to the menus, like wildcat said, so it might work again after a while. I would suggest searching for forums online to find people who have similar problems. I hope you can either get it replaced, fix it, or just get lucky and have it work again. Don't worry--I doubt you'll never play the wii again! Good luck having a wii that works, whether you can keep the one you have, or get it replaced. Boy, I wish I had a wii too...

Sounds to me like the disc drive itself is damaged in some way. Possible explanations are:
1.laser reader, &/or
2.mechanism that pulls discs into the drive bay, &/or
3.laser reader mechanism, itself
You may have some dirt, or something else that only the disc reader picks up, in the drive bay. Or one, or more of the mechanism used by the disc drive is damaged. How do you have your Wii setting? It can set both straight up{vertical}, & flat{horizontal}. Try setting it a different way than you have it now. The drive mechanisms might be loose, & causing problems. Setting it different may allow you to play discs you put in the drive. Have your Wii set on a relatively flat surface. Unplug your Wii, & hold it so the disc drive slot is facing down. So very gently shake your Wii so that any dirt inside falls out. Set it back on a level/flat surface, & see if you can get any of your games to work. Try all your games. What games don't work? Just Wii games? Just Gamecube games? both? I pray, & hope this works for you.
