Wow, so now I realize that it has probably been half a year since my last blog post...what was I doing? I mean, Dragon Quest 8 was brand new, if that's any indication....since then, I've played through a ton of games... off the top of my head: Devil May Cry 3, FFX-2, Kingdom Hearts II, God of War, Shadow Hearts: Covenant...yeah, so there's been some quality gaming going on...
But honestly, games are about the only thing that takes my mind off of what is going on in life. I'll admit, growing old isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm about to start grad school, which would be totally awesome if I had any money...but yeah, can't say I do...so right now I'm just trying to figure out how not to starve...
Well, after food, my second concern is where I'll find the time to play some of the great games due out in the 4th quarter...you know...the one's we're all looking forward to, like FFXII, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Dirge of Cerberus, etc. Half of these games I've been tracking for several years now, and now I don't know if and when I'll be able to play them....aaaaargh (did I mention that growing older sucks?)
That's it for me, good night, and good luck (or something like that)
Ok, yeah, it's definitely been quite some time since I last posted here. If I recally correctly, I was playing through Dragon Quest 8, which really was a good game in its own right, albeit impossible to level up in.
In the past few months I've started to get back into video games again. I finally got around to playing Devil May Cry 3 (special), which is totally fantastic. I also played through ffx-2, which, although quite girly in some aspects, was a very enjoyable game. I suppose it makes me reminisce alot at this point. When I first started college some 4 years ago, I played through both FFX and Kingdom hearts in my friends dorm. Now I've just played through FFX-2 and will be getting KH2 tomorrow. So wow, I've definitely gone full circle now that I'm moving on from college. But in any case, it's been good gaming. If I can remember to, I'll post some feedback about KH2...
Wow, it's been quite some time since I've found the free hours needed to sit play through an RPG, and while I don't technically have them now, I feel as though after the last few hellacious months I've earned it. So, as was planned, I started playing through Dragon Quest VIII today. All I can say there is wow...its truly something awesome to look at, and it has plenty of tie-ins to the series' origins.
The scary thing I think is that I clearly remember playing the first Dragon Warrior game for the NES....when it was NEW. Yeah, I suppose I'm getting up there in age at this point. But the interesting part is that the game used to give me nightmares (I'm not apologizing for that...I was five at the time). However, I'm partly wondering if some random monster in DQ8 is going to trigger some psychotic relapse into my childhood (man that'd be tough to explain at 22).
But honestly the game is something I've needed for awhile, just to de-stress from the whole grad uate school mess, and to let my concerns erode. The game is definitely not for the impatient, you have to want to spend time leveling up for hours, but I always have.....since I was five....and so this for me is truly a panacea.
Good night and God bless, happy new year too...whatever that actually means....
