Yyyes!

So, my new PC and TV arrived. Fabulous devices, truly fabulous. I actually plugged this 40" TV into my new PC and the picture is as sharp as in any TFT -screen. Splendid!

Now I've tried gaming a bit as well. Half-Life 2 was terrific to play with a screen this large and FPS so plenty. Whoa. It's almost like being in heaven.

Although, I'm still missing those 4GB of fast memory, I have only borrowed 2GB of basic memory for my needs, so that I can get this system up. Seems to work fine, but I still want the extra memory to boost this system to the top.

I've been also using this new Windows Vista for a few days. After the hassle, I'm starting to like this. Aero -desktop looks very nice, and after you learn the tricks, it's also very useful. The downside is that it may eat up some gaming resources, but that's not a matter that big for me.

Okay, I guess I'll play now.

Rrroam!

It eats some of the gaming resources, without it being helpful at all... I mean, who wants the date and extra clock on the right while having the time and date on the right bottom? Did they create this crap in all those years, just to come up with that? Worthless... I still prefer Windows XP. Not that it's that good, but at least better than Vista, with its 'twenty questions' whether you are sure to move a file to the garbage can. If I was able to, I would throw Vista to the garbage, no matter how many times it asks.

Bleh, those extra features can be turned off if one desires so. The main difference in Vista is that for the first time, DirectX has been built on the operating system, while DirectX in XP was just an external graphics library. In the future, this will show in increased performance.

Also the memory and hard drvie management (indexing) is much more effective than it is in XP. As for me, since I have enough memory and a fast HDD, Vista is working better on this computer than any XP on any of my computers.

Cool dude ... my dream PC will come at the end of next year probably (still deciding weather to get a 360 and a good TV or a good PC).
