Haven't done a GG episode blog in a while (cause face it, most of the earlier episodes of Season 7, especially during the "Chris and Lore" show, weren't worth commenting on).
But tonight's episode just happens to be my fave episode of this season!
And something else to mention: This is Gilmore Girls's 150th episode!! Congrats to GG on reaching this episode milestone! ![]()
I LOVED this episode!! Classic GG is back and I really hope it's here to stay throughout the end of this season.
The awkward moments between Luke & Lorelai in the diner in order to regain their friendship were great. I loved Lorelai's comment to Sookie, "We talked about weather in the 1st minute." lol
Loved that Luke was the only person she could go to for car advice. And their banter is back! I just loved Lorelai's smile during the middle of Luke's rant and he's like "WHAT?!" and she just smiled sweetly as they continued arguing. As others have said, I love that they still know each other so well and Lorelai knows that he's cranky when he has low blood sugar.
Their final scene was just great and I loved how Luke 'fixed' her situation so she could keep her old car. Definitely saw all the car anvils and the "Change is bad" stuff, but I now think that an LL reunion will be totally believable.
Paris rules! Loved the hugging and excitement scene when she opened her acceptance letters. Also loved the real honest talk she had with Rory in the bar. And I loved Doyle for sticking up for their relationship. The two of them totally balance each other out and I really believe they love each other.
So great to see Sookie and Jackson have a real storyline! I loved how she kept trying to mother him and tell him to not leave his wet towels on the floor, etc lol. And glad she finally admitted that she hadn't totally forgiven him for the whole 3rd pregnancy debacle. Lorelai's face literally dropped when she heard the fate of her dollhouse but I loved that Sookie and Jackson were going to try to fix it because they knew the sentimental value that it had.
Another reason I loved this episode was because of all the continuity. The return of Jackson's Season 2 pajamas was hilarious and I loved Luke's face when Jackson opened the door! Also loved Paris's many references to previous seasons like when she didn't get accepted into Harvard, and when Rory ousted her when she became the editor of the YDN.
AB really did a great job on that final scene and I'm also glad that Rory didn't get exactly what she wanted this time. I know she'll be disappointed but hopefully she'll be able to consider some other job opportunities.
I also heard that it wasn't Lauren Graham's bike, but that she did pick it out. I thought that that scene might have been an inside joke between Lauren and Alexis since they do often ride their bikes around the set. And that bike was very Lorelai, so it's cool to learn that Lauren picked it out. ![]()
There was also an old interview with LG and SP where they talk about Scott's responses to the types of cars she buys and he's like "Why'd you get that one?" And Scott also said that if a gnat could ruin her car, lol. I definitly thought of that interview when watching the episode. I doubt that the storyline was centered around that conversation but it was a nice nod to LG and SP.
And the promo for next week looks really good!

MuteTroubadour: Aw sorry to hear that you haven't seen the newest episodes yet (so it's good you have the DVD's!) I think you'll really like this episode because it was a throwback to classic GG. And did you hear that the town troubadour returned last week?
i am seriously so glad that the eps are getting better and better. if only it had happened sooner.
racheeel: I remember seeing the interview on youtube, but I'm not sure if it's still there (since many vids were deleted due to copyright infringement). I just did some extensive searching online and I can't seem to find it on the video download sites. Hope you're able to find it.
