Avid gamer since the early nineties. Moments of extreme joy in videogames includes my first go of super mario brothers (1990) sensible soccer on the mega cd (1995) Sonic the headgehog 2 (1994) first look at mario 64 (1997) amazing. The first time i played ocarina of time (199 is still my best ever memory in video games..... Shemue (2000) superbly stupid yet absorbing. Oh metal gear solid (2000) fantastic original! grand theft auto 3 (2002)? hugely impressive. pro evoulution soccer 4 (2004)? best in the series i think. wii sports (2006). It could be argued im a nintendo fanboy well....they do make the best games.

So i picked up the shockingly good infamous after a rather lackluster demo available on the PSN. The demo did not do the game any justice at all. Let's face it it's not exactly original but it is very fluid and also well constructed. So if you haven't tried it yet give it a go.

The last guardian.

From the makers of one of my all time favourates, shadow of the colossus, comes the last guardian. This prommises to be one of the greatest games ever created. How do i know that?, Well truth be told i dont, however the premise is very unique and the attention to detail and graphicsare just outstanding. These guys make very very good games and if the last two are anything to go by this is going to be stellar.

Heavy Rain.

From the makers of farenheight comes Heavy Rain. Ok so Farenheight was a bitstrange in some ways and lacklustergame. But again this looks rather unique bit too much QTA for my liking but i'll give it a go.I don't like the press conferences so far for the game though. A bit too.....Emotional from the lead developer.

So that's what im looking forward to in the near future and should also prob pick up a copy of Uncharted 2.......Looks a bit tasty.

Cast your minds back two years ago. Remember the mass hysteria of the wii? Billed as the next step in interactive gaming avid gamers all over the world waited in anticipation for the arival of the innotive console. I myself was taken in. Giving Nintendo one last chance after the dissapointment of the N64 and the gamecube for me this was Nintendo's last chance to keep me a fan.

Things looked promising, Zelda, Galaxy and mario kart came and went. But somthing was eviedent in the background. The awful third party drivel that was spewing ontothe wii was quite worrying then came the bombshell....Wii fit.

There it was Nintendo had forever turned its back on its fans and consigned themselves to be a family gimmicy five minuite fun fest.......Nice marketing Nintendo but count me out....Thank god i got a PS3

Somthing strange is happening.......Cast your football-simulation obsessed minds back to PES4. The pinical of footballing simulation. Pro evo 4 was indeed everything a football game should be. Now enter PES 5, konami to be fair re-invented the whole game from start to finish. However the game never really hit the same highs as PES4. Now in the distance came the same yearly cash in rumblings of EA's FIFA. "Can Fifa finaly step up to the mark and take PES crown?" After years of a shoddy attempt at football ( see quite litterly from 1999-200 the promises never lived up to hype.

Put it this way you were either PES or FIFA and rarely you found a person who had an avid intrest in both. Enter Fifa's Euro 2008. They had it. They really did. After playing Pes since god knows when i was smitten by EA's Euro 2008. The captain your country feature with four players really got me by the jacobs. It had come the day i didn't want to come....the day i had to choose between my old time lover and the new sexy chick with massive boobies. Im going to go for the massive boobies. I feel so dirty betraying konami...but Fifa has fianly done what it prommised...make an outstanding football simulation. After downloading the Fifa 09 demo I realised the love affair was over.

Unlike supporting an actual football team i feel no real disgrace in switching allegences. But the balence of power has shifted. Much like in the scottish premier division Rangers for so many years and now celtic rule the roost. (Im a celtic man by the way and delighted) Its funny how simulation football emulates real football.

many gamers will face the same decision this autum and i urge them to switch to Fifa....at leat untill Konami sorts it oot.

Goodnight and goodluck

Some people just don't have opinions. Like smeg1967.
smeg1967 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could smeg1967 possibly have for not rating a single film?
