The Deathly Hallows

Some years ago, when I was just a little Slipknoob, my aunt gave me Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone and that was the start of the most famous book series ever. When you talk about books, Harry Potter loses only to the Bible in readers. And after having stopped reading The Deathly Hallows (or as the Brazilian titles reads, As Relíquias da Morte) on around page 100 around one year ago because of spoilers twice, I recently grabbed it and said to myself "it's time to finish this!" and that's what I did!

I finished it this afternoon and almost cried(that meaning that tears didn't actually left my eyes) while reading one of the last chapters. Yeah, I know, I'm late for the Harry Potter fan that I actually am, but yeah And I want to invite anyone who haven't read the books to do it. Unlikely some people say, Harry Potter has a deep story of murder, love, betrayal and of course, humour and it's not a childish book.

Now my reading plans are: Get and read the Artemis Fowl books that I still don't own, only two out of the six books to go, The Lost Colony and The Time Paradox. My aunt will buy them, read them and then give them to me and in this meanwhile I'll borrow Twilight from a friend of mine. It's seemingly more interesting for girls, but why not give it a go?

Well, take care and have a nice weekend

Deathly Hallows is my absolute favorite piece of fiction. Well, I guess the series as a whole is my favorite, but #7 was easily my favorite. It was an amazingly fantastic conclusion to the series.

Artemis Fowl is a great series too, not nearly as amazing as Harry Potter but still very enjoyable books and stories.

I liked Artemis Fowl too the only one I didn't like was the Opal Deception. I wouldn't read Twilight unless you're doing it for the ladies lol.

@TissueShoe: Yeah, now that I finished it I don't know which one is my favourite, but I guess it's The Prisoner of Azkaban. Yeah, AF is really cool as well.
@gormo4: Actually the first two books were the ones that I liked less.

Congrats on finishing the book!

@swrdof1000trths that was the last one I read. Well, it's good to have something to talk with girls, but I won't read it to the end if I don't like it.

@nintendoecx indeed

@LuigiRulze it was

@macrules_640 thanks, you know it's been long that I had to do it

Ah, I love the Harry Potter books. It's a shame that some people refuse to read them because the books are too "childish," which isn't true.
Posted Jul 31, 2009 3:50 pm PT
I've never read Harry Potter, but at the age of 22 I finished His Dark Materials, which apparently is in a similar vein. If its a good story who cares what age group its aimed at? I still like Noggin the Nog

I'm glad you got the chance to finish Harry Potter! It's a great book series!

As for Artemis Fowl, it is one of my absolute favorite book series EVER. Hopefully you'll like it, too.
Posted Jul 31, 2009 4:19 pm PT
@msudude211 yeah, but to the hell with the ones who think it's fairly tales, they don't know what they're missing.

@Joker_Wylde I don't know Noggin the Nog, but maybe you should try Harry Potter

@Bluegreen17 I know Artemis Fowl is awesome, I own and have read the first four books

*Rereads last paragraph*

Oops. For a moment I thought you hadn't read any of them. Well, it's nice to know someone else who likes them, then!
Posted Jul 31, 2009 4:50 pm PT
@Bluegreen17 now that I read it, it did get a little confusing, I'll fix it

Great series of books & great movie series as well.
I like reading Stephen King but I'm not sure you know of him because he's an American horror author but he's great too.

@manhunter92 I've heard of that author, someone in my friends list likes his works a lot.
Posted Jul 31, 2009 5:35 pm PT
What's a book?
Posted Jul 31, 2009 5:43 pm PT
@Aidan129 I knew you were going to ask this question. A book is a lot of paper and a nice looking cover that holds all that paper together.
Posted Jul 31, 2009 6:10 pm PT
Hello everyone and congratulations on finishing Deathly Hollows. Please add me as your friend?
Posted Jul 31, 2009 6:16 pm PT
@MrsNintendo hey, thanks, and I'm tracking you
Posted Jul 31, 2009 6:49 pm PT
Awesome! Thanks new friend! But why does GameSpot have to call it "Tracking"? It makes it seem like you have to stalk someone to be their buddy. Oh my!
Posted Jul 31, 2009 7:43 pm PT
@MrsNintendo yeah, tracking, watching... Just keeping an eye on your friend Yeah, it could be call "add", but since you can watch people without having them to accept you, they could do like on Twitter and call it "follow".

Posted Jul 31, 2009 9:06 pm PT
The movies have big parts missing. Like when Doby had a strike against working in the fifth book I think? It's been awhile since I read them.
Posted Jul 31, 2009 9:28 pm PT
I half-finished it long ago. I only read the first 3 chapters and the last 3 chapters for comprehension.
Posted Jul 31, 2009 11:34 pm PT
I met eoiln cooper once
Posted Aug 1, 2009 12:53 am PT
Well congrats on finishing the book. I haven't picked up a book in a very long time.
Posted Aug 1, 2009 8:46 am PT
I really need to finish reading the books. I've seen the movies, but my progress with the books has been unacceptable!
Posted Aug 1, 2009 9:52 am PT
@MrsNintendo they would be too long if they were complete and full of details.

@Kleeyook haha, that's what I call skimming

@FM_punk you met who? Did you mean Eoin Colfer?

@Colmillios sometimes I forget how good is to read a book

@Courtney817 haha, I was hurried by the movies, I would never want to watch these last movies without reading the book before.
Posted Aug 1, 2009 1:46 pm PT
But then the movies would be EPIC! Imagine a 7 hour movie... lawl... I'd so fall asleep with my face planted in the popcorn...

I'd wake up with kernels in my eyes! :O
Posted Aug 1, 2009 9:27 pm PT
@slipknoob yeah the guy who weote artemis fowl
Posted Aug 1, 2009 10:39 pm PT
@MrsNintendo haha, you're right. What about a TV series?
Posted Aug 2, 2009 9:04 am PT
A television series would be an epic win! I like cliffhangers that series can do anyways... like what Pokemon did with the "To Be Continued" at the end of the episode. It has you at the end of your seat! I am trying to come up with my own version of Mewthree, check out my blog?
Posted Aug 2, 2009 9:19 am PT
@MrsNintendo I already did it, lady
Posted Aug 2, 2009 10:11 am PT
