Okay, i hav a question which has been really bugging me and i was hoping that you guys and gals could help me out.

I live in the Uk and im buying a UK PS3 on 17th November. However if i was to ship over the collectors edition of FFXII from the US (PS2 game) would it play on my PS3, because its backwards compatible as well as region free.

I know no one knows for sure, but could someone have an educated guess please? thanks in advance

I think so, Region free means it doesn't check the region code when booting up, so that would mean that any game compatible should ber playable, even on the old ps2 could play al regions if you got rid of the region block, and knowing the ps3 is region free it should work. Region coding doesn't really affect game data also, it useally just affect the amount of hertz the game is shown in. that's my guess, hope it was of any help

I have to agree with Phucvan. The PS3 is suppose to be region-free, so you should able to play PS2 games from the North America territory on it with no problem. I would assume that the same would go for PS1 games as well.
