Okay, I just have to rant a little:
I am SO SICK of going to the message boards on IMDB. You know why? Because half the people there just want to rant and rave about how awful the episodes are (it doesn't really matter which show you pick, but especially with L&O: SVU), how terrible the acting is, how stale the writing is, blah, blah, blah!!!! It's like, you know, if you HATE the show that f***ing much, DON'T WATCH IT!!!
**Note: I'm not talking about those of us who don't like one specific episode, or have a problem with something in the plot and really want to discuss it with others, etc. I'm talking about those trolls who hate on the entire show and say they've despised it for over a year or whatever. I mean, that's a LONG time to keep watching something you intensely dislike, right?**
But what do they say if you tell them that? "Oh, I've heard that line so often before." Hmmm, maybe that's a clue that you should TAKE THE HINT!! And then they proceed to rant and rave at YOU!!!! As if you're the one doing something to annoy everyone else.
I just don't get it. Do they not have anything better to do with their time than watch shows they can't stand and then go online and complain about them????? What a miserable, bitter existance they must have. ARG!!! And it makes the entire message board SUCK for those of us who truly enjoy the shows, or are concerned about a certain aspect of them, or want to genuinely talk about the acting, writing, episodes, etc.
And I SWEAR TO GOSH if I EVER hear the words "Special Benson Unit" spoken in anger towards Mariska again (not just as a joke--I'm sure many of us have said it that way) I'm going to go Benson in ??? (sorry don't know the episode) and BEAT THE CRAP out of whoever says it.
Yes, the show is different than it used to be. Yes it focuses mainly on the case -- ususally led by Liv and El -- and discusses very little of everyone's lives, or the court process. Yes, the episodes aren't always as great as we'd like them to be. Yes, sometimes the writing's a little funky. Yes, there are certain things that ought to be changed (as with any other show.) But NO, contrary to popular belief, NO ONE is forcing you to watch it! If you still like the show, great! If you don't, find something else you do like and go watch that instead! And leave the rest of us in peace.
Whew. Okay, I'm not sure that actually made me feel any better, but I'm afraid if I posted it on IMDB, I might get blasted off the face of the planet... ![]()
Hmmm, maybe I should take my own advice and just stay away from the IMDB message boards...
I just keep hoping I'll find a good topic to discuss... Oh well. Aaaand, I'm out.
Here's the details. I don't mind if it takes awhile to get done. I can wait.
And just so you know, you don't have to follow the current storyline of the show if you don't want to. You can create your own starting from the end of Undercover if you prefer, but if you want to go where the show is going - for example, Liv having had a boyfriend - that's great too!
"Uncovering the Truth"
Post-Undercover. El doesn't believe Liv when she says she fine and that nothing happened. He won't leave her alone about it and she ends up so pissed off that she just spills everything on him in her rage (it's up to you if you want her to just yell at him, or if you want her to hit him, etc. also. Maybe he's an outlet for the anger/fear/whatever that she can't legally direct at the Captain?) After releasing all those pent-up thoughts and images, however, she realizes it was a catharsis for her. I'd like the story to begin with Elliot having just taken the Captain out to the waiting officers to be put in lock-up and was about to walk back into the room when he heard Melinda asking Olivia about knowing Ashley was telling the truth about the mole. That could be something he throws in her face when he's trying to get her to talk to him--that he already overheard that conversation, why not tell him the rest?? (Obviously Liv doesn't know he overheard though.) You can end the story however you want and it can be as long as you want. There can be other characters involved if you want (for example: Elliot badgers her at the workplace and she argues with him there around other people at some point, whatever!) Please keep it interesting and make it believable! I welcome multiple authors and adaptations of my idea, so if you see someone has already accepted the challenge, feel free to do it too! Thanks so much.
Take artistic license with the Undercover episode: allow for the possibility that it took Fin much longer than it seemed to find the right key (either he's an idiot or there was a ton of keys, your choice)
and that when he finally got in Captain Lowell Harris was already finishing what he had done; also when Olivia told Melinda that it was "the closest she'd ever come" it was because she just couldn't/wouldn't deal with the truth of what had happened, but she knew she couldn't flat-out lie to her because Melinda would know.
Please send me a PM or post a comment here if you decide to take up this challenge. You can post your story wherever you want to, I just want to know where I can read it!! Thanks again!
P.S. You can change the title if you want. I was trying to figure out how to use the word "undercover" in there cleverly, and "uncover" was the closest I came. No pun intended...

A little info about me. I am a 22-year-old married mommy. I graduated from Phoenix Christian High School in 2003 and graduated with my BA in Education at ASU West in May of 2007. My husband, Mike, teaches middle school math, and if I eventually go into teaching, that's what I will teach, too (although I would much prefer the smaller ratio of tutoring, I think.) I am not going to teach right away because I want to stay home with my little man, Eddie. He is almost 2 and is great fun to be around.
Here is my weekly show schedule:
Sunday - Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Cold Case
Monday - One Tree Hill, Medium, CSI: Miami
Tuesday - Law and Order: SVU
Wednesday - America's Next Top Model, Law and Order: CI, Law and Order
Thursday - CSI, Without a Trace
Friday - NOTHING!!!
Saturday - SNL
Hmmm... Perhaps I watch too much TV ![]()
