Hey guys! I'm back on tv.com . I haven't been here since my internship started. I was just too busy. I used to be home every night at 9 o'clock. After that I had to go to the physical therapist for my knee injury and after that I still had to eat. So you can understand that after that, I didn't really feel like writing or reading blogs. But my internship went very well, so that's cool .

So anyway, I'm back now, but next week I leave on vacation. I'm going to California for almost four weeks. I'm staying with buddies of mine in Santa Cruz and Mountain View, so that's going to be a lot of fun. I'll keep you guys posted here.

So since my internship ended I've been having a lot of free time. Went to some parties and stuff and watched a lot of sports. I have this sports network NASN, pretty sweet. Been following the Stanley Cup. I'm rooting for the Penguins (I have since the beginning of the play offs), but I'm afraid the Red Wings are just too strong. I've been watching some MLB too, but it's not really my kind of sport. Not enough action. But still I'd like to see a game of the San Francisco Giants when I'm in California. I've seen them practice once, and that was pretty cool. I'm thinking about going to the MLB Roadshow this summer. They're coming to twelve cities in Germany. One of them is Cologne, which is not so far from where I live. And then of course there's the NBA. I'm always rooting for the Pistons there. I just love their team. Sadly they're not in the finals. But I think Boston deserves to be. It's pretty cool they're finally doing well again. So in the finals I'm rooting for The Celtics. I'm just glad the Spurs aren't going to win this year :p. I've also been watching the NCAA finals during my internship. Nice finals. The boy's final was really exciting, with a deserving winner. And the girl's final was pretty cool too. You got to love Candace Parker. She's better than Candice Wiggins at any time! Even when she's injured. No wonder she was first pick at the WNBA draft. Back in Europe there was the Champions League final. Finally Manchester United won again! I'm a biiiiig Man Utd and Liverpool fan. Maybe a bit weird, because they are big rivals . But I've just loved them since I was a little girl. We even went to visit their stadiums. Pretty cool. So I love that Manchester won. I kind of hate Chelsea since they just bought themselves a good team. It made them lose their charm. Next week the European Championship starts! That's big. As always I'm rooting for The Netherlands. I'm a very big fan. Of course if Belgium participates, I want them to win. But, we haven't participated in a championship in sex years! Six years! It's just too sad. Ah whatever, I'm a Holland girl now . Too bad I can't watch the games though, as I will be in the States at that time. Usually we watch the games in a bar in the Netherlands (in Maastricht) which is a lot of fun. Two years ago I saw the World Cup final between France and Italy in a French bar in Spain. So much fun! And of course there's Roland Garros tennis. Together with Wimbledon my favourite sports event of the year. I'm still very sad that Henin quit tennis. Actually, I don't even like to talk about it. So, let's talk about something else .

So, I'm kind of counting the days until I leave on vacation. The rest of my cl*ss is still doing their internship, so that's pretty funny :p. I leave next week on Sunday, and on Friday I still have a wedding I have to go to. Lieselot, one of my best friends during High School, is getting married. Tonight we have the bachelorette party. We're all going to be dressed eighties style. So that's going to be so much fun . I'll post some photo's later .

Oh by the way, I have facebook now. So if you have facebook too, you can always add me to your friends list. Name: Jane Geurden.

That's it for now.

See you soon guys!!!

With the Oscars coming up, I started this little mission called 'watch all the movies that are nominated for Best Picture' . Here are my thoughts on the nominees.

1. No Country for Old Men

Loved it! Such a good movie. I'm especially impressed with Josh Brolin's performance. And how 'bout Javier Bardem. You can't portray a serial killer any better I guess . The only actor on the cast I didn't like was Woody Harrelson. The acting was bad and his character was a bit redundant in my opinion. On the other hand, the story was absolutely great! I just enjoyed every second of. And the Coen brothers show their amazing talent yet again!

I rate it 9/10.

Movietome summary:

The story begins when Llewelyn Moss (BROLIN) finds a pickup truck surrounded by a sentry of dead men. A load of heroin and two million dollars in cash are still in the back. When Moss takes the money, he sets off a chain reaction of catastrophic violence that not even the law - in the person of aging, disillusioned Sheriff Bell (JONES) - can contain. As Moss tries to evade his pursuers - in particular a mysterious mastermind who flips coins for human lives (BARDEM) - the film simultaneously strips down the American crime drama and broadens its concerns to encompass themes as ancient as the Bible and as bloodily contemporary as this morning's headlines.

2. Juno

Fun movie to watch. The conversations are quick and funny and Ellen Page portrays the Juno character very well. On the other hand the movie is not nearly as alternative as it wants to be. But still, it's quite enjoyable to watch. And I just love J.K. Simmons in this movie. What I liked least about the movie was Jennifer Garner. I don't know if it was actually her or her character, but something really annoyed me. It was also nice to see Arrested Development stars Jason Bateman and Michael Cera on screen together again.

I rate it 7,5/10.

Movietome summary:

JUNO stars Ellen Page as the title character, a whip-smart teen confronting an unplanned pregnancy by her cl*ssmate Bleeker (Cera). With the help of her best friend Leah (Thirlby), Juno finds her unborn child a "perfect" set of parents: an affluent suburban couple, Mark and Vanessa (Bateman and Garner), longing to adopt. Luckily, Juno has the total support of her parents (Simmons and Janney) as she faces some tough decisions, flirts with adulthood and ultimately figures out where she belongs.

3. Atonement

Now this movie totally surprised me. Everyone was talking about a love story. I HATE love stories, plus, I just totally detest Keira Knightley. So I thought I would hate this movie. But what do you know, I liked it! Yes, I'm admitting I liked a Keira Knightley movie. There are no certainties left in the world, that's for sure . So anyway, the first 40 minutes of the movie were amazing cinematographically speaking. And the story is quite good as well. The part where our friend James McAvoy is at war is the worst part of the movie. The story slows down a bit. Luckily the ending kinda makes up for that. I like it when we see Briony as an eighteen year old and then as an elderly woman. Really, this movie ain't a love story. Why are people saying that? This story is about, well, atonement obviously . And about actions and consequences. And not fully understanding what those consequences are. So if you were, like I did, having doubts about this movie, maybe you should give it a chance after all .

I rate it 8/10.

Movietome summary:

On the hottest day of the summer of 1935, thirteen-year-old Briony Tallis sees her older sister Cecilia strip off her clothes and plunge into the fountain in the garden of their country house. Watching Cecilia is their housekeeper's son Robbie Turner, a childhood friend who, along with Briony's sister, has recently graduated from Cambridge. By the end of that day the lives of all three will have been changed forever. Robbie and Cecilia will have crossed a boundary they had never before dared to approach and will have become victims of the younger girl's scheming imagination, and Briony will have committed a dreadful crime, the guilt for which will colour her entire life.

4. Michael Clayton

I'm not really sure about this one. It seems such a chaotic movie. You have to constantly be focused, or you can't follow. I also feel they could have done more with the storyline. Good performance by George Clooney though. So I don't know.. maybe it's one of those movies you have to see twice before you really appreciate it.

I rate it 6,5/10

Movietome summary:

Michael Clayton, a NY attorney known among his colleagues as "the Janitor" because for 15 years he's worked behind the scenes to clean up his high-profile clients' messy personal problems. The story takes place over the four worst days of his career.

5. There Will Be Blood

Well I just totally admire Daniel Day-Lewis! I mean, what a performance! Paul Dano was also quite good. "You have arthritis don't you? Yes, the devil is in your hands and I will suck it out!" That scene was so funny. About the movie: I liked it, but I think it was too long. The story about oil also disappears completely. I don't think it's a movie I will watch again soon. But there was a lot in it that I liked and the story was pretty good.

I rate it 7/10.

Movietome summuray:

A sprawling epic about family, greed, corruption, and the pursuit of the American dream. Set in the booming West coast oil fields at the turn of the 20th century, "There Will Be Blood" follows the rise of rugged prospector Daniel Plainview (Day-Lewis) who becomes an independent oilman after hitting it rich with the strike of a lifetime. Written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film is inspired by Upton Sinclair's novel "Oil!"

So what's the final conclusion? My Oscar goes to:

No Country for Old Men! Hooray!

Let me know who your Oscar goes to!

Rachel Griffiths is without a doubt an amazing actress. The first time I saw her was on Six Feet Under, where she played the eccentric and gifted Brenda Chenowith. Now we can admire Rachel in Brothers & Sisters, where she does a great job playing...
