Maria Lark is a bright little star with a future filled with potential. I watch the television show "Medium" regularly, and I especially await scenes in which "Bridget" appears. Maria brings this character to life, very realistically portraying a dynamo of a middle child with an independent spirit. She is a joy to watch: she has good comic timing and great chemistry with her on-screen family. This little actress always brings a smile to my face, and I expect good things from her in the future. I really like Ben Browder. Since I first saw him in the pilot episode of Farscape, he has consistently displayed a sharp wit and screen charisma that just can't be beat. Pair him with almost anybody, and the results remain the same: Great! I now enjoy his work on Stargate SG-1, where he is teamed with Beau Bridges (great work!) and his made-in-heaven screen partner, Claudia Black. These three have successfully revived this 10-year old series, breathing new wonder into the show. Browder, especially, is filling a gap where Richard Dean Anderson used to be, and does it even better, in my opinion. When the series ends this season, I hope there are plans for more Browder screen appearances. I will certainly tune in for them.

Fran Dresher is a very fine, talented comedic actor, director and producer. Most well known for her turn as "Nanny Fine", the JAP in hot pursuit of a good man (preferably her boss) on The Nanny in the 90's, Fran made America laugh at her outrageous exploits for six seasons. Her signature nasal laugh and voice are enough to make you laugh out loud.

Dresher parlayed her act into a new show, Living With Fran, which only ran for a season. This is unfortunate, because the fresh turn on the May/December relationship, with Fran as the older partner was really quite good. I'm looking forward to seeing what else this lady has up her sleeve, 'cause I need a good laugh: it keeps you young!

I have enjoyed the comedy and acting of Jeff Foxworthy for years. I was first exposed to him on his television show, aptly named "The Jeff Foxworthy Show", which was a mid-1990's sitcom that aired first on ABC, and subsequently moved to NBC. The show itself was a family-oriented, 'wife and kids' thing that was based on the excellent stand-up comedy of Foxworthy. This show featured a very young Haley Joel Osment as Jeff's young, precocious son, Matt, and Jay Mohr, as Foxworthy's brother; I think that it's a testament to the quality of Foxworthy's comedic talents that he was never overshadowed by this adorable kid and Mohr in their onscreen moments together.

After my experience with the sitcom, I actively sought out recordings of his stand-up routines, and always found myself amazed on how in sync his work is with my funny-bone! He, in fact, makes me laugh out loud. The more recent "Blue Collar TV" show teamed Foxworthy with other stand-up comics for skits and variety; my favorite parings are Foxworthy and Bill Engvall ("Here's Your Sign", which is my all-time favorite joke routine) I love his work! I first saw Claudia Black's work in the TV series Farscape. She was marvelous in that series, and very convincingly portrayed a character, 'Aeryn Sun', who really developed, nay, transformed over the course of several seasons from a one-dimensional rigid soldier into a multi-dimensional full-fledged woman who could embrace the warrior, goddess, lover and mother in herself. She did this so well, that I can safely say her performances in this show truly were a part of what allowed me to regularly suspend disbelief and enter into the universe of Farscape.

Now, when Claudia showed up in the role of Vala, on the TV series Stargate SG-1, I was double-awed! She really took that role and ran with it. This was 'Aeryn Sun, Ruler of the Universe!" Her humor, craftiness, and need to be on top and in front do everything to enliven the last seasons of this scifi staple. She has outstanding onscreen chemistry with her co-stars, and undoubtedly brought a host of new viewers to the show, and reinvigorated many of the solid fans of the show (me, for example). Claudia Black was *born* to play this role.

I've seen some of her work on the big screen as well, but what I've seen were roles that were small and underdeveloped, so they didn't allow her to fully display her chops. But for those of you who are looking for someone to light up the small screen and really get your interest, try watching Farscape or the latter seasons (8+) of Stargate SG-1.

I just caught a re-run of Peter in the long-lived series "Charmed", and even in a season that had completely jumped the shark, his work elevated the episodes in which he appeared. I adored his work in the Sci/fi-adventure series, Highlander, where he played the role of Methos, an exceptionally old and multi-layered immortal being. Peter garnered scores and scores of admirers from that one role, and has a fan-base amongst viewers of that show even now. You can also see Peter's work in a host of UK series, and in the US, he has appeared in Touching Evil, Stargate SG-1, The L Word, Andromeda, Bliss, and more.

Peter Wingfield's performances are fabulous in everything I've had the good fortune to see. He has become one of my favorite actors. Now that I am able to receive a station that airs episodes of 'Cold Squad', I am looking forward to watching Wingfield in that show as well.

I first noticed Taye Diggs' work in the movies. He co-starred with Angela Bassett and Whoopi Goldberg in 1998's How Stella Got Her Groove Back, where he played the quite attractive and much younger lover, 'Winston', to Bassett's 'Stella' character; and co-starred in both the Broadway theatrical production and movie versions of the musical Rent, in the role of 'Benny', where he sings and acts. He was very effective in The Best Man, co-starring with Nia Long, Terrence Howard, and Morris Chestnut; and in The Wood, with Omar Epps and Malinda Williams (of 'Soul Food' fame); as well as House on Haunted Hill, co-starring with Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen and Ali Larter ('Heroes'). All of these were in 1999. It was a very good year…

Diggs starred in two of his own television series: Kevin Hill (which I never had the opportunity to see more than twice), a dramedy that ran for one season on UPN during the 2004–2005 season; and Day Break, in the 2006-2007 season on ABC.

He had recurring roles on the comedic television series Ally McBeal, in which he played Jackson Duper (a lawyer) during the fourth season of the series. Ally McBeal was a David E. Kelly production, whom I am convinced aspires to do musical theatre, so there was singing and maybe some dancing in this role as well. He also appeared on Will & Grace, as one of Will's superficial (but darned good looking), love interests. Diggs has appeared in numerous other television series, in both dramatic and comedic roles.

It is rumored at this writing (Feb. 2007) that Diggs will guest star in the wildly popular series, 'Grey's Anatomy, and that there may be a spin-off, in which he'd also appear. Sight unseen in the role, fans of the show which is currently home to characters nicknamed 'McDreamy' and 'McSteamy', are considering the moniker, 'McChocolate' for Diggs. …Yummy, chocolately goodness, indeed! I'm certainly on board for that.

I look forward to seeing what the future brings us from this actor.

Michael C. Hall first came to my attention in the initial season of 'Six Feet Under', a marvelous show that ran for five seasons on HBO. His turn as the tightly-wound, at first repressed and closeted, then openly gay (but still pretty tightly-wound) David Fisher, was superlative, as evidenced by his lion's share of awards and great notices. His performance is definitely part of what made millions of viewers tune in for their weekly dose of death drama surrounding an amazingly dysfunctional family of undertakers.

He's had the good fortune to be cast in TV series that are highly unusual in their premises, perhaps making his outstanding performances that much more attention-worthy.

At this writing (early 2007) Hall is starring in 'Dexter', a Showtime series about dark, but lovable, serial killer. Ha! How's that for unusual? Now, I've watched the first season of the show, and Michael definitely makes it work! I can't wait for the next set of shows. Look for more great work from this very talented actor.

I thoroughly enjoy Kari Matchett! Her performances have been stellar in everything I've seen her in. She brilliantly does turns in drama, comedy, and various combinations of the two, and seems to find roles in a variety of genres. I first noticed her in Gene Rodenberry's 'Earth: Final Conflict', a science fiction drama that managed to run for 5 seasons (though only the first season was truly amazing IMHO; seasons 2-4 showed small glimmers of hope that kept me hanging on, but the 5th season was apparently a completely different *series*! Again, IMHO). Kari appeared in that first season as well as one or two vital appearances in the second season.

I got the opportunity to really marvel at her talent in the Nero Wolfe series that was shown here in the US on the A&E channel. Being an aficianado of Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe detective novels aside, this repertory-style production clearly brought the actors' artistry to the forefront. This approach to production allowed for most members of the cast to play a different role in each episode, drawing on their cache of talents to portray a wide variety of characters. You get to see Kari dark and menacing, bright, funny and playful, always generating very satisfying chemistry with her fellow actors. Another TV series in which she has a prominent role is "Invasion", which aired in 2006. I'm so sorry this series didn't have a longer run, primarily because of Kari Matchett's presence in the cast.

I saw her most recently in an episode of 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Stip' in Feb. 2007; again, she lights up the scenes she appears in and definitely leaves one anxiously anticipating her next appearance. I look forward to finding more of her onscreen work.

It seems that I've been watching this actress in one show/movie or another for about 20 years now. I've watched her evolve from playing small bit parts to fully fleshed characters and roles. I've always been impressed by the chops she displays, often outshining her higher-billed co-stars (her turn in the TV show, Profiler comes to mind, off the top of my head). She shows great skill for dramatic presentations as well as good comedic timing. I've seen her play a variety of ethnicities very convincingly, and her most recent role on TV's Nip/Tuck, has her portraying Liz Cruz, a Latin American lesbian doctor.

Her performances always seem to resonate with me. One of her more poignant roles was in a little seen scifi anthology, 'Welcome to Paradox', wherein she played the wife of a scientist on a mission to make a better human being, acting as his own guinea pig. That shown was viewed only once, yet still it evokes sadness, just from the memory of her extraordinary performance. She is very dynamic and has great onscreen chemistry; I look forward to the opportunities to watch her perform.

I've been a fan of Melora Hardin since I first saw her in 'Cover Me: Based on the True Life of an FBI Family' back in 2000. I've since seen her in the movie 'Seven Girlfriends' with Tim Daly, the 'Monk' television series, where she plays the lead character's long-deceased wife, and now I get to see her frequently on 'The Office' with Steve Carrell. Melora manages to have great onscreen chemistry with all of her co-stars, male or female, young or old, which is no mean feat! In 'Seven Girlfriends', her acting as well as singing talent is showcased. It turns out Melora has a very nice voice—as does Tim Daly, which came as a big surprise. I always look forward to opportunities to watch Melora onscreen.
