This is the New S#it!!
Saturday, Mar 21, 2009

I was browsing a Borders bookstore and came across a book titled Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance - Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem! Basically a guy named Seth Grahame-Smith decided to takes Jane Austen's classic and added zombies to the story. To me this was a no brainer purchase especially when skimming through the book I also read about slaying zombies with a sword during the Victorian age. I always enjoyed reading a good book about zombies such as World War Z, The Zombie Survival Guide, The Walking Dead, The Zen of Zombie, History Is Dead: A Zombie Anthology, and upcoming title like Patient Zero and The Zombie Survival Guide: Reported Attacks. It seems that zombies are rising up from the grave in the literature world, pun intended. But there is possible corruption upcoming throughout the zombie literature world and the possible culprit is a book titled The Forest of Hands and Teeth. What's bad about this book you asked? It's being marketed towards the same lucrative teen market that ate up the Twilight book series. What that means is turning the zombie genre into a PG13 product so it can be more kid friendly. If this book sells then it becomes the posibe new prototype of zombie story telling that will dominate the market. Dark days loom ahead for my zombie reading habits.

On March 24, Pearl Jam re-releases their debut album "Ten", one of my personal all time favorite albums. It is part of a 2 year re-issuing of their entire studio release catalogue that will end in 2011 to coincide with their 20th anniversary. Listening to this album sounds just as fresh when it first came out and definitely still holds up to any of today's fare,

U2: No Line On The Horizon

Track Listing:

  1. No Line On The Horizon
  2. Magnificent
  3. Moment of Surrender
  4. Unknown Caller
  5. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight
  6. Get On Your Boots
  7. Stand Up Comedy
  8. FEZ-Being Born
  9. White As Snow
  10. Breathe
  11. Cedars Of Lebanon
U2 was the first music act I grew to love over 20 years ago and to this day I'm always highly anticipating any new music from them. The only two times they have ever let me down with their music was when they released "Zooropa" (*shudders*) and Pop. Unfortunately their new release, their 12th, almost made a third time that I was disappointed. To me this album has too many tracks that just mediocre. The album seems to be quite moody, skipping back and forth from up tempo songs and slower tempo songs. Occasionally there are some odd lyrical references such as "Juju Man" and "Cock-a-Tude" both of these featured in the song "Breathe". The only two tracks that stands out for me is "Get On Your Boots" and probably one of new all time U2 favorite songs "Magnificent". I can only recommend this new album to hardcore U2 fans while casual U2 fans should probably skip it.

My U2's Album Ranking:
  1. Achtung Baby
  2. Joshua Tree
  3. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
  4. All That You Can't Leave Behind
  5. Boy
  6. No Line On The Horizon
  7. The Unforgettable Fire
  8. Rattle And Hum
  9. War
  10. October
  11. Pop
  12. Zooropa

Iron Man
I had to admit when I first heard that Robert Downey Jr. was cast as Tony Stark/Iron Man, I had my doubts about the movie. It reminded me about the same doubts that I had years ago when I first heard that they was casting Michael Keaton as Batman....

Jaws: The Revenge
The Worst Movie I Have Ever Seen In My Entire Life. The very idea of some shark tracking people down to another country makes for the worst plot ever!!!
