THE BUDWEISER SHOOTOUT:

After 2 mouth scene the end of the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami speedway 21 drivers hit the track for a 2 segment, 70 lap non-points race. Segment 1 is 20 laps & Segment 2 is 50 laps & in the end Dale Earnhardt Jr. wins the SHOOTOUT & sets a record by leading 47 of the 70 laps.

THE GATORADE DUELS at DAYTONA:

3 days before the DAYTONA 500 the Gatorade Duels are held to deside the starting line-up or the DAYTONA 500 The front ow was already decided last Sunday the day after the BUDWEISER SHOOTOUT. 37 driver are already locked in to the 43 car field 5 drivers will have to race there way in to the field. The Gatorade Duels are 2 races to deside the Starting line-up race 1 decides the inside row & race decides the outside.
Duel 1. After his win in the Shootout Dale Jr. wins Duel 1 also after Duel 1 both Brian Vickers, Kenny Wallace & 2004 Series Champion Kurt Busch Qualified for the 500
Duel 2. After a green-white-checkered finish Denny Hamlin wins Duel 2 and gets win number 1 for TOYOTA also after Duel 2 both John Andretti & 1999 Series Champion Dale Jarrett Qualified for the 500. Jarrett will make his final start in the 500 Jarrett won the 500 in 1993, 1996, & 2000

The 50th DAYTONA 500:

"THE SUPER BOWL OF NASCAR" as some call it & on 2/17/08 NASCAR celebrated the 50th running of "THE GREAT AMERICAN RACE" and after 7 cautions & 200 laps Ryan Newman wins the DAYTONA 500 getting many Tony Steward fans angry as Newman & Kurt Busch Draft by Steward on backstretch on the last lap.
