Well, I actually have kind of a lot I want to go over here. So beware, this might be a tad on the long side.
Oh, there are some spoilers in regards to last week's Supernatural & the Dexter season S3 premiere ahead, along with the Buffy and Angel comics, so if you haven't seen them yet, skip those parts, ok. ![]()

So, Supernatural. In the Beginning was another brilliant episode. So far season 4 is looking to be the best season yet. We got a lot of answers, and a few new questions. We found out that Mary and her family were hunters.
I have to say, this one really surprised me. I mean, I always had them pegged to be evil. We also learned that despite being one of the good guys, Mary is the one who started everything...which, duh, right? But it was more the way that things were put into motion that was surprising. She was the original deal maker, and it was that very deal that led to her family being cursed with the very thing she wanted to keep them away from. There were many fantastic scenes, but the one in particular that stood out was the scene between Dean and Mary, in which she was telling him that she didn't want the hunting life for her family. No words were necessary to see how Dean felt when he heard this, as Jensen Ackles really shined in this scene. Dean finally learned what happened to Sam in the nursery that night, and is now caught up with everyone else in the big picture. The end scene of course, was also fantastic as Castiel told Dean that Sam was on a dangerous path, and if he did not stop him then they would. But, the big question here is, what is Azazel's end game? I smell....something evil.
Oh, and Impala origins= awesome. ![]()

Dexter, Dexter, Dexter. Words can't express the love I have for this show, and for Michael C. Hall for being so freaking awesome.
Granted, this season premiere wasn't like S2's, where we were on the edge of our seat the whole time. But it was tense in a different way. Dexter, a father, how bizarre is that? I mean yes, he's sort of been a father figure to Astor and Cody already, but having a child of his own will certainly be a test to his character. As usual, I can't wait to see where this season takes us.
So I'm going to mosey on over to music now. I really wanted to talk about this musician that I love, and his name is Andrew McMahon. He's front man to this really great band called Jack's Mannequin, and used to front this other band called Something Corporate. He is a truly brilliant piano player and song writer. Jack's Mannequin's latest album The Glass Passenger is nothing short of a masterpiece, which chronicles a difficult time in Andrew's life. Pretty much every song on the album shines all on it's own, but there is one that is so moving that you can actually feel what it is he went through. That song would be Caves. In a very haunting way, Andrew tells us what he experienced while battling cancer a few years ago. His lyrics are both heartbreaking and beautiful, as you can literally feel every word that he is singing. If you like alternative rock, and haven't heard of Jack's Mannequin, I strongly recommend that you check them out, as soon as possible.

Now, I shall move on to comics. Specifically the Buffy and Angel comics. I've never been a big fan of comics, but when 2 of my favorite shows EVER were converted into one, I decided that this is a hobby I was going to have to take up. I have to say, that I've mostly enjoyed them both. Although, I am less impressed with Buffy's if I must choose a favorite. I wasn't terribly crazy with the idea of Dawn becoming a giant and then a centaur. And Xander....give the guy a break already. Hasn't he been through enough, losing his eye, Anya dying, then you have to go and kill the next girl he has a thing for too? For crying out loud Whedon, let the man be! Then there's Willow, I just, I don't like the idea of her being Dark Willow, yet again. I mean yeah, she was pretty much awesome, but it's like, been there, done that. Hopefully they'll find a way around that. And Buffy....poor relationship challenged Buffy. She's no lesbian, but bless her little heart for trying.
I have to say though, the one arc that I've really enjoyed the most was Faith's. The idea that Giles has basically begun to train her as if he was her watcher is kind of sweet, really. She has always so desperately needed guidance, which with the exception of that brief period during S4 of Angel, Wesley was never really able to give her.

Now, as for Angel: After the Fall. I've really enjoyed them so far. Of course, the only part I don't like is Wes being a ghost and Wolfram & Hart's liaison. I do hope that at some point he can become corporeal again. And Angel, being human...didn't see that coming. Although, I didn't see Gunn being a vamp, or Fred actually being buried inside of Illyria. Oh wait, I did at least hope for that last part...as you all know I complete adore Fred. But enough there. I like that essentially everyone that's been important in the series no matter at what point has so far been involved. Kate, Groo, Gwen, Nina, and especially Connor. Oh oh oh, and Lorne. I can't believe I forgot about Lornitunes.
So I have to say that despite my lack of comic book love, I'm really looking forward to following Angel for as long as I can.

Ok folks, I think that's all I've got for now. I hope everyone's enjoyed my ramblings, and I'll catch ya all again next time.
Oh, one more thing. If you live in the US and are of age to vote, and are not registered to vote, I urge you to please please please do so. It doesn't matter who you vote for, just that you do. So if you're not registered, please take a minute and do so, as time is running out (if it hasn't already) in most states.

Ok, now I'm done. Have a good night all. ![]()

::: does a little firsty jig ::::
Shazz! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I've never been big on comics myself either, but I made the exception for Buffy and Angel.
And I don't have Showtime either. My super cool boss records the episodes for me, so that's how I watch them. I of course buy them when they come out on DVD to make up for my naughty-ness though. ![]()
I couldn't agree more about votine. It's so important, and I wish that not only the young folks, but the not so young folks would get out and vote as well. It drives me crazy when people just blow it off like it's no big deal...I mean, it's only our country, so who cares right? Ok, that was a bit snarky, so I'll stop now.
**hugs**
Badgersmuffin- I see you've still got your dancing Angel icon....awesome.
I haven't seen the 2nd episode of Dexter yet, but I sort of agree. I mean, just basing off the premiere it doesn't have that same intensity as the first 2 seasons, but it's still really good, just in a different way. I have faith I won't be let down.
Saturday- Yeah, Whedon can be a real bastard that way.
He'll make you love a character, then *POOF*, they're dead, or at the very least something terrible has happened to them and they're completely miserable. It's that part of him that makes me love him, yet hate him at the same time.
Ella- you need to get caught up on Supernatural lady!
That was actually episode 3 I was talking about, so I hope you didn't get too spoiled...or that you just skipped it all together. And yeah, I was slacking pretty bad with the comics here lately too...I actually just got all caught up with both of them a few nights ago.
Raluka- Hey! Yeah, I thought it was pretty great too!
Puma- I know what you mean...sometimes I hate watching shows on DVD first cause then I have to get used to waiting a week for new episodes.
But yes, things are definetly getting interesting...I'm really excited to see Daddy Dexter.
And yeah, Jensen really knocked that scene out of the park. I've watched that episode a few times now and every time I tear up when I see his face.
I agree with you that season four has been fantastic. I was really surprised actually, I mean I loved Ruby so much but season three was pretty terrible and very all over the place -- a lot of the episodes were very boring to me. Finale was my favourite episode ever though.
Peppers- You can always ramble here! ![]()
Ew, yeah, I was totally cringing while watching the Mary/Samuel kissing scene. You're right though, it was disgusting, but kind of cool that they went there.
As for Azazel's end game...I don't know. I'm not so sure if it's the same as Lillith's. I guess that remains to be seen. In some aspects it seems like no way, but then in other ways it seems like it's completely possible...so who knows.
lol...I don't know, maybe Jensen did demand more screen time. Either that, or Jared really was on vaca in Hawaii.
But yeah, I think it's about time Kripke realized that Dean should have a destiny of his own, and I'm with you, I don't know how anyone couldn't see this coming from a mile away.
Yeah, I mean the best theory I can come up with is that Ruby is somehow trying to carry on Azazels plan. I'm sure she's evol. You sound as confused as me as to what that plan could be, lol. I hope the writers know at least! Sometimes it felt like they're making it up in the past seasons -- hopefully Kripke has planned better now.
Haha. Agreed, I think Dean needed some kind of destiny especially as he is so inextricably tied to his brother who is about to turn evol (such was his desinty from before birth). There needed to be something there for Dean to have survived that long... I think for a lot of fans he's the big damn hero of SPN. Although for myself I prefer the villains.

Sadly, I don't get Showtime, so I've only seen Season1 of Dexter...plan on renting Season 2 so I can be prepared for the current season when it's on DVD.
Good on ya' telling folks to register. This may just be the most important presidential election of our lifetime--make sure your vote is counted!!!!
****hugs all around***
