So, I didn't plan on waiting this long to do part 3 of my list, but I've had a very stressful and mostly bad last couple of weeks, and I just simply didn't have the time to get on here till now.
Anyhow, on with my list. As usual, please remember that this is my list, and beware of spoilers. Oh, and it may also seem that from this point on, all the characters I have chosen are pretty much from the same few shows, and well, they pretty much are. ![]()
19. Lorne- Angel
I loved Lorne pretty much from the first time I saw him. I mean, a green horned empath demon who owns a karaoke bar, how could you not?
18. Andrew Wells- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Andrew was a wonderful addition to Buffy in S7 (well, S6 too of course
), which IMO was a very drama heavy season and he provided some much needed comedy in almost every scene he was in. Tom Lenk was a comedic evil genius with his performance as Andrew on Buffy, not to mention his brief appearances in S5 of Angel as well.
17. Captain Malcolm Reynolds- Firefly
Mal was a natural born leader, of sorts, and by far my favorite brown coat. He was a rebel with a cause, and a heart too as he proved by taking in River & Simon despite his better judgement. Also, his feelings for Inara, whether admitted or not, were endearing none the less. Plus, I adore Nathan Fillion, so I had to have my favorite character that he plays in my top 20 somewhere.
16. Veronica Mars- Veronica Mars
Veronica Mars as a character was complicated to say the least. As the protagonist of the show, she was lovable, witty, and at times difficult to like. But that's what she was about. She wasn't perfect, and given everything she had been through in her life it would be difficult not to be somewhat flawed.
15. Spike- Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel
It's no secret that I did not care for the Buffy/Spike relationship at all. In fact, I much prefer Spike on Angel as I thought he had way better chemistry with Angel than he ever did with Buffy. That's not to say I didn't like him on Buffy, because I did, I just started losing interest in him particularly after he got a soul. Of course him having a soul is what made the dynamic between him & Angel so interesting, so I guess I'm a little torn there. But mostly the Spike that I love, is way back in S2 Spike, in which he's nothing but evil.
14. Bright Abbott- Everwood
Now I have to admit that I wasn't a big fan of Bright's in the very beginning. But over time, he became the character that grew the most on Everwood, IMO. Mostly due to the loss of his best friend, his friendship with Ephram, and his eventual relationship with Hannah, through which he actually became a pretty decent guy, excluding of course his slip up with the yarn chick.
13. Xander Harris- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Xander Harris was one of the few characters without any special powers or a destiny to follow on Buffy, which is why I think he is so likable to most people. With being sort of the average guy on a show about demons and mythical powers, it made him easy to relate to. He was also sort of the heart of the scoobies, as stated by Buffy herself, but more importantly he provided much needed sarcasm to the gang. ![]()
12. Sam Winchester- Supernatural
I know some people think that Sam is a little on the dull side, but I believe that there's a lot more to Sam than meets the eye...which I suppose that much should be obvious after last season's finale. I've always felt a little sympathetic towards him because he just seems so broken, which is also obvious by all that pouting he does.
After being raised the way that him & Dean were, all he wanted was a normal life, which is something that he knows he'll never have. There's also that whole he might be the anti-christ thing looming over him, so that's gotta be a bit of a bummer too, so I guess you can't blame a guy for looking so sad all the time.
11. Dexter Morgan- Dexter
So as I'm sure you can guess, I'm a bit of a Michael C. Hall fan, seeing as how the two characters that he's most famous for playing are both on my list. With that aside, Dexter Morgan is a seriously disturbingly fun character to love. There are so many levels to him that I really couldn't go into them too much without being up all night long doing so. To put it shortly, I think people have always been interested in serial killers in a way, and the fact that Dexter is a good serial killer (as good as one could possibly be anyways) is what makes him so appealing.
Ok, so that was my top 20. I'm sure some of you noticed that I kind of messed up the first part of my list (40-30) by counting down 11 characters instead of 10. I obviously wasn't paying any attention when I did that, so now my countdown is a little wacky.
So, in order to make my top 10 an actual top 10 and not a top 9, I only did 18-11 on this part. Alright, well goodnight all!
Comments
That's a wonderful selection! There's only one, I don't know, so here I go with my comments.
I like Spike as well. What a surprise.
Xander had his moments! I recently read about Zeppo and he was great in the end. Also some good speeches, indeed. Sometimes, he annoyed me a little but he was a great addition to the show! Sam is ok also, I am not the hugest fan but I see your points. Dexter is a great choice, I am a Micheal C. Hall fan, as well.
Can't wait for your top ten. I have some guesses. I hope you have a good time coming up!

i like your disclaimer at the top... v. funny...
i have to say that i agree with most of your choices.. my particular faves being:
Malcolm
Spike
Veronica
Sam
Dexter
and I also agree with most of your reasons... cant wait for the Top 10... bring it on!!
Andrew - Hilarious, though he was sort of evil in season six, and in CWDP.
Mal - Meh.
Veronica - LOVE HER.
Spike - I liked him in Buffy seasons 2-5, after that he could be a bit much to handle. JM is a great actor.
Xander - Hated him in the early years, but he got better.
Sam - Hate him. Hat everything about him.
Dexter - Great character, very interesting.
Great blog.
Reynolds was great and he was my favorite character on Firefly as well.
Xander was great on Buffy and I loved how he wanted Buffy for so long but never got her.
**hugs**
I wouldn't say Lorne was my favorite Angel character but I did love him, he was very underrated and underused.
When Andrew was introduced in season 6 I thought he was funny but that was about it, then in seaosn 7 I started to really love him a lot especially when he sort of became part of Buffy's gang. He was especially hysterical in season 7 but he also became more of a real character, not just a villain anymore. I loooove his appearances on Angel too. Especially in Damages, I was taken by surprise seeing him. He was honestly the last Buffy cast member I ever expected to see again but I looooved seeing him again.
I love love love love love Nathan, I love Mal. Can't think of any better way to phrase it.
I adore Spike, there are Btvs and Angel characters I love more, but I still adore Spike. He was so interesting, compelling, developed. He changed so much and jis journey is just fascinating and wonderful to watch. I mean during season 2 I never would have guessed that one day Spike would not only have a soul but fall in love with Buffy! He's just another outstanding Joss character.
I loved Bright, he was pretty much my favorite Everwood character besides Hannah. In season 1 he was a jerk but there were these small moments where you could see something great slip out. During season 2 and 3 he really became a stand up guy and though he still made his mistakes he was a wonderful guy and a great character. He's one of the reasons I miss Everwood so much.
Xander wasn't my favorite Btvs characters but I loved him none the less, especially his close relationship with Buffy and Willow and his protectiveness of them both.
alguna- You've never looked into VM or Firefly? I highly reccomend that you check into them, as they are both really great shows.
mafalada- So I take it you're a Spike fan?
And I love Xander in The Zeppo! It was such a great episode for him. I always felt he was a little underrated. Granted at times he was a tad closed minded about certain things, but I think that's what made him more realistic to me.
iheartbooth-I can relate with you on Dexter...when I first discovered it I was like a mad woman obsessesed. And really, I kind of still am.
Tish- Thanks, I thought it was pretty funny too.
tvfan- You hate Sam?
HaveSumFaith- I'm glad you're enjoying the list so far. I love me some Mal too!
hikinggirl- I have to say I really agree with you on Jason Dohring, he is rather attractive.
As for Sam, I've always been a sucker for a brooding man, which is one reason why he's on my list.
SMGslayer- I was always a little sad that they didn't utilize Lorne a bit better, especially in the 5th season. It seemed to me like they were kind of putting him off to pasture (or however that saying goes- I'm not much for the country life) towards the end there.
I'm with you on Andrew, I liked him in S6, but I didn't start to love him till S7 when he really started to become part of the Scoobies. And he was so great in Damages! I wish he would've been around more on Angel besides the little part he had in The Girl In Question.
I also love love love Mal & well, just Nathan in general. I mean really, what's not to love about him? He was oh so good in Dr. Horrible too.
As for Bright, well I just love him to pieces. It makes me so sad that we didn't get to see how much more he would've grown as a person, and how his relationship with Hannah would've ended up.
badgersmuffin- Glad you like it so far. Also, I love your icon!

Sam is ok, but haven't really watched much Supernatural that I can be sure.
.........
Never watched Firefly or Veronica Mars.
