Looks like the IMDB has rolled out a new TV site. It will take a while to get used to it but I like it a lot.

It shows promise since it really focuses more on the information. That is the thing that made me really like the original TVTome. And is something that I feel is neglected in TV.com.

In any case, perhaps some competition is for the good.

While I'm all for competition, I'm less than impressed with IMDB's changes.

I noticed the other day that the show site changed while looking at guest stars for a show. One day it had them all listed as "guest appearances" and the next day they were listed in the "episode list" guide.

content is less impressive, it seems like it focuses more on selling the DVDs. (imdb.com, click on imdb TV)

it's not too bad for the tv side. I still think not differenciating guest star role and star role is a stupid idea.

I think I like the edgier look of tv.com, but I do like lots of information, too. Maybe the sites will complement each other...

The direct link to the tv portion of imdb is here.

I find the new episode-based lists bit confusing. It's really difficult to edit the main cast members of a show. And lately I think IMDB has had even more errors in their data than TV.com and that's saying a lot. Not to mention the turnaround times of them actually fixing the errors are even longer than in TV.com. Competition is for the good but I wouldn't call the new IMDB TV an improvement, at least not yet.

I wholeheartedly agree with your last sentence.

I checked out the IMDB TV site and I do not like it nearly as much as TV.com.

This has gradually been under way for a very long time, ever since TVTome-John started Movietome.

At least tv.com doesn't require you to have an amazon account just to post messages. You should be able to post after registering.
