It has been a while since I have played any Sony system. I sold my PS2 back in the day so I could get some extra money to blow on the Wii, I mean hell, I figured I would never play it anymore with all the next gen sestems coming out. Plus, I just figured I would buy a PS3 anyways. Well I haven't and for a while I was not too concerned about not having one, my 360 and Wii provide me with enough entertainment. But then I started playing Mass Effect and I remember all the good times I had with Playstation, playing time consuming RPG's, not having to deal with the crazy people online. I would really like a PS3 but, damn. What the hell Sony? Do you hate your fans? five to six hundred dollars for a piece of hardware that isn't even the cheapest (or best) Blu-ray player anymore. Give people a little insentive to buy it. Either drop the prices or package it with something. I can tell you right now Sony, and I think I speak for everyone when I say "we love games like Metal Gear and Final Fantasy but, no person in their right mind will blow $500 just to be able to play those games!"

You do know PS3 is 399$ now and will decrease more eventually this year...
Sony has decreased the cost of making PS3 a lot(which originally was around 840$ to 420$ and even less)... through methods the revised PS3 design (80 GB) contains about 2820 individual parts, compared to 4048 in the previous-generation model with a 60 GB hard drive.... and not including the chip to play ps2 games and through better management and distribution...
I love both the Consoles but you're statement here is just wrong and biased
There is a dramatic price cut for blu ray players and anything related to it... so the cost will become even less...
Don't say the ps3 has no games... it has a LOT of awesome exclusives

I like the 360 too i play a lot of GOW2 with my friends all the time...
