Ok, so with the greatest heroes of all time voting going on. it is nice to see a number of the most badass heroes ever to grace the face of gaming on the list and (so far) all are still in it. well. Heres the verdict on who i think is the most badass and why

10: The burgler in the Sims. Sure this person may not nessisarily be 'badass' but they are quite the expert criminal (in sims 3 atleast) if you are robbed by then you get a relation with them (obviously negetive) but this can change. i have seen sims that had stuff stolen soon become best friends with the very person that stole their precious stuff, now, if that isnt some kind of badass i don't know what is.

9: Billy D Williams. Do i really need to explain why? well ok i'll do it anyway. Not only is this man mother F*&(#*% Lando Calrissian he is also The Director of the GDI in Command and Conquer 3 amonst many other things. Truley, few can compete with this man in his path of all things Stylish and awesom.

8: Next up comes Gordon Freeman, why Gordon you ask? well. its simple. He has no say in the matter, Gman throing him into impossible situations, Alex volinteering him for suicide missions, you name it. it has happened. and this scientist has faced all challenges with unshakeable nervs and never a word of complaint. All he needs is his trusty crowbar and no foe can defeat him (as long as they arent to far away) but thats what the sniper crowbar is for

7: Kirby. You may find yourself asking "why kirby" well, let me tell you a little something about kirby. one day, in dreamland everything is normal, just like any other day. and then, out of nowhere a little pink psychopatch comes running up, eating everything in his path and wearing peoples faces as hats. now consider that, and ask yourself if its badass or not

6: Serious sam. Is he a wana-be duke nukem? maybe. but that doesn't stop Serious Sam from being a badass in his own right. from taking down massive hordes of enemies to fighting and killing a building, SS has stood against it all and keeps on asking for more. And remember kiddies: double your gun, double your fun

5:F.E.A.R. Point man. Sure he may not say much, and he may not be all that great in many ways. but how many people do you see surviving the world in that game? the seargent? nah, the chopper crew? nope, the entire city? not even close. but the point man reigns supreme in this world, this....terrible terrible world that Alma has let loose.

4: Jim Raynor, This man has survived countless encounters with the zerg, sure he may be a rageing alchoholic. but after your womans becomes the queen B!7#$ of the universe, who wouldent be? Even after 10 years he is still going strong and fighting just like always, he has forged friendships with the protoss when the UED would only seek to start war with them and he has many allies to help him along the way.

3: Kyle Katarn, This man is the most badass jedi ever to live, he has done more than luke can ever hope to do. There really is no way to describe just how great he is and why you must bow down before his greatness

2: Kane. Kane is the father of the Brotherhood of NOD, as once stated by the former third in command Seth, the ranking order is from god to kane to seth. well, seth aint around no more and thats because he tried to get rid of kane. Big mistake. KAIN LIVES! the brotherhood shall previal and Tiberium is the key to humanitys future.

1: You saw this one coming, The icon of icons in this list. Duke Mother F&(%*@# Nukem. When he thretens to rip off your head and sh!t down your neck HE MEANS IT. Dont take him for a fool this man means buisness, mess with his babes and hell come and get you, and not just you. but you, all your friends, and anyone else that you try to hide behind, or near. or just in the general visinity of. There is no escaping him and you really, REALLY don't want him coming after you.

Well, we are getting close to that time of the year again. the time when our wallets get the big squeeze and our paychecks seem to be gone as soon as we get them.

in just 16 days the seemingly endless release of awesome games will be coming out!

ODST is just the start however. october is the month to end all months, here is where we will beg for a longer month and more money just to get half of it done. Forza 3, Brutal legend, uncharted 2, for you consolites that missed out, the witcher, Boarderland, Episodes of liberty city, Alpha protocol, a new vandal hearts (hellz yeah).

But that is just the begining. nov. 2nd is dragon age origins! there is just no end to the great games we are getting this fall and...wow...i just dont know where im going to find time to play half of them....

I love how all these "hardcore" gamers just dismiss every game that is out that isnt "T3h Mature" and "T3h Bl0OdB@th". The fact that Gears of War1 and 2 has gotten the sales it has just boggles the mind. At first it is fun i admit. but after only a few short days you begin to realise that behind the gore splatterd screen.....there really isnt much to it

Is it me or does 1 guy or a small team in power armor/mutated (halo, gears, Resistance, KZ, ect) equal tuns of sales/high ratings? Ever sense Doom it seems like if it has power armored people fighting monsters it gets a good score (there are exceptions for truely aweful games sure, but for the most part...) But much like GTAIV, after the inital hype wares off you are left wodering 'is this game really as good as i thought?" this has happend to me time and time again with games, Gears, AC, CoD4, CoDW@W, ect.

The one place this hasent happend to me. is the Casual game market. Audiosurf, Sims (1-3), Spore, Plants Vs Zombies, simcity, *insert object here* tycoon(except prison tycoon 4) you name it. There are tuns of casual games, and if you take the time to look for one that interests you you shall see, quite quikley. that games are more than pretty graphics and online deathmatches.

I miss the old days where it wasn't about graphics and being hardcore/brutal, but it was about Fun. It seems to me that outside a few PC devs. only Nintendo remembers why people game in the first place. its not about having the best looking game. Its about having the most enjoyable expireance possible. and with each gen more and more non-gamers and 'Casual' gamers become 'core' and 'hardcore' gamers. and maybe they still like the casual, family friendly, party games more than the hardcore GoWs and Halos. but does that really make them not gamers?
