To those paying attention, I just bought a 20GB PS3 on ebay for $250.00! It's been upgraded to a 120GB harddrive but it is, in fact, the REAL 20GB original and has full backwards compatablity. I am tickled. I can't wait for it to arrive. Now my problem is I have alot of great games to get plus all the Xbox 360 stuff I plan on getting this year. Thoughts or advice from all of you?

thats a really good find for a good price. i want a ps3 so bad. still just straightening out the finances. maybe by then end of the year ill have one.

I hear you on the finances thing. Actually, this is a risky buy for me as money is tight but I think I can manage it. I'll be selling my PS2 now... what's the point of keeping it? I have a fat one and a slim with a screen. I think I'll keep the slim but the fatty has a harddrive so it might be okay. Look on ebay if you're looking to get a PS3. I'm sure you can all find one cheap... especially right now before the holidays.

Not to be that guy, but I'd advise caution on selling the PS2. Check the Backwards compatibility on your favorite games and THEN sell it... I traded in my original xbox (for a pittance) when buying my 360, only to find out that one of my favorite games which claimed backwards compatability performed terribly and was virtually unplayable.
On a more positive note, congrats on the PS3... my buddy has one and it is a very impressive machine. Have fun!

Thanks for the advice. I have two PS2's so I think it's safe to sell one of them now. But I still appreciate what you're saying. I've considered that maybe I should have gotten a Wii instead because I have a 360 already and there are a handful of Wii exclusives I really want (Muramasa, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Zelda...) The only reason I wanted a PS3 was for the exclusives there too. Uncharted and Resistans Fall of Man are among my must gets... not to mention Metal Gear Solid 4!

The PS3 just arrived today and it is sweet. I can't believe the deal I got on this thing. Backwards compatable and with a 120GB harddrive. I couldn't be happier right now... well, I could be if Kobe Tai handed it to me naked and offered to help me open the box... but then I wouldn'tbe messing around with the PS3, would I?

I've gotten Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. So far, I am most impressed with Uncharted. I haven't gotten into Metal Gear Solid 4 yet. Resistance is something I'm kind of luke-warm on so far. It's ok, but after all of the great 1st person shooters on the 360, it's just kind of meh...
