These reality shows that are littering our television stations are ruining america's concept of television. Whatever happened to the times when a show had to have some plot to it, or better yet, when they had morals that we could all learn something from. Television today is a collection of crappy shows about people's lives I could really care less about, and I am sure there are others who feel the same. Why do I want to watch another season of the bachalor when all it is going to be is a bunch of obviously airheaded women (come on girls, if you have to get on national tv to get a man, there is obviously something wrong with you) throwing themselves at a guy who truly doesn't care about them (when you have twenty five women who will happily throw themselves at you, why should you care). If you want to learn about taking care of your kids, read a book. If you want to know what it's like to live with another woman who is not your wife, there is something wrong with you in the first place.
Me? Give me a good old fashion show that let's me drift away into an imagined world that lets me go an hour later to go back to my life, not something that is going to disgust me and leave me with an angry feeling that I have wasted my time and that the people who made these shows have wasted a lot of other people's time as well. Are we so dense anymore that the only thing that can entertain us is the lives of other people? Are we, as a society, so stupid that we are now unable to grasp the concept of a plot? Is watching a fictious show so difficult that we would rather stare dumbly at this box on our entertainment stand, watching couples yell at each other, or even worse, couples who aren't even married yelling at each other. Where is the morality of these shows, worse yet, where is our own morality?
