Ugh... Prom Night... I have to consider this to be one of the pointless re-makes of all time. Not because the film being remade was a work of art, but because the film being remade was just average. It was good, but not great. It was entertaining and scary. Okay, scary-ish. There was no reason for the film to be remade. Well, what we have here is a very stupid, dull, badly acted, badly written, etc. re-make of an okay film. But there are four letters wrong with this movie: PG-13. Yes, PG-13. Okay, that's two letters, one dash, and two numbers. But you get my point. Had this film been R rated I might have enjoyed it more. There would have been more blood, and more blood can sometimes make a better movie. Now, it still would have been mediocre... Well horrible, actually, but I would have gotten to see the bad actors and annoying characters get cut up into little tiny bits and gobbled up by the boring killer. That would have gotten the movie a D- from me instead of an F+. But no. There is hardly any blood and you never see anyone get stabbed. And when they do get stabbed (I'm talking about one scene in particular) you see blood stains on the shirt, but no stab marks. Okay, now that I've gotten that out of the way, time to start nit-picking!
The plot: A high-school teacher gets obsessed with a female student and stalks her. Then he kills her family. Happy, happy, joy, joy. Said female student goes to live with her aunt and uncle. On the night of her senior prom, the killer escapes his cage that he was locked in (well he escaped a few days before said event) and kills the female's friends. It all ends up with the killer getting killed by the cliche rough and tough police man.
The acting: Horrible. That's all that needs to be said, but that's not all I will say. The actors spoke so softly that I could hardly hear them. So I missed out on certain plot points. Oh, yes, I know, boo-hoo. The only tolerable actor (or actress, in this case) was Brittany Snow.
Wow. I'm terrible sorry, but I realize that I have gone on for far too long about this movie. Seeing how's this is my first very detailed movie review I'm not sure where to go with it from here. (After all, reviewing a film is not like reviewing a video game.) Well, to make a long review short, the movie is horrible. Just horrible. The only reason I gave the film one star instead of a measly half-a-star is such: the annoying characters all die!!! :) Well, not all of them, but enough to make me happy. And, Brittany Snow was an okay actress.

Serenity. It is one of my favorite movies, based off of my favorite television series. I am a Firefly fanatic. I watch at least two episodes a week. I didn't learn about the wonderful series until late 2006. When I learned that Joss Whedon had created a movie sequel, I was excited. I could never find a copy of the film until January 2008, in a MovieXchange. I bought the movie (even though it was fullscreen, they had no widescreen version), watched, and now it is one of my favorites.

Classic it may be, I personally hated Halloween. I watched it at a friends house at a party, laughing the whole way through. I thought some of the acting was overly dramatic, some was not dramatic enough, and I found many slip-ups and pointed some of the badly written dialouge. The films saving grace was the very spooky score (kudos to the composer), but the fact that the same piece was played over and over made me want to throw a rock at my friends two thousand dollar television. The film did have a suspenseful part or two, such as when the main character was hiding in the closet towards the end of the movie, but that was about the only part. The director seemed to try to use nudity artisticly, but one of the scenes just seemed like something that would be on HBO around midnight. There were also things that didn't make sense. Micheal Meyers would appear across the street, or out the window or whatever, a character would be looking straight at him, the camera would cut to the main character, cut back to the place where the killer was standing (but not anymore), and the character would wonder where he went. Even though the character was staring at him. Meyers is either a VERY brisk walker, or has some sort of supernatural ability. And then there were the times where our supernatural killer seemed to be at two places at once. Overall, I think Halloween is a fairly bad film, that is not scary and hardly suspenseful, but I guess that is just my opinion.

The wrighting was pretty good, and the movie followed the book really well. I thought the movie was OK, some parts were good, some, not so good. BOTTOM LINE: If you liked the book, see this movie. If you haven't read it, decide for yourself.

I love this film. Why? It's unintentionally funny. It won two Golden Turkey Awards, disgusted people in theatres, and got bashed by the critics. With awful sets, acting, writing, and directing, this movie is so bad that it is good. Keep in mind that this is rare. Also, when you watch it, look out for the crooked fence, the strings on the "cigar shaped" flying saucers (the kind from up there), and the title screen where it says, "Almost starring, Bela Lugosi!" It's true. (Bela died during filming, so they had to use Ed Wood's wife's cyropracter.) This is a must see.

This is one of my favorite film of all time. It is based on the novel of the same name written by Erich Maria Remarque. Suprisingly, the film doesn't have the usual 1930s overacting. Most of the acting is solid. There are really only one or two overacted scenes. Such as when Paul "comes back". (You'll know what I mean if you've seen the film.) So, if you read the novel and liked/loved it, you will want to see this film. Or if you have seen the movie but haven't read the novel, this film will want to make you to read the novel.
