I was sad when Georgie/Terri left all saints (was I the only person rooting for a last-minute reconciliation between her and Jack?) but could understand she felt the character had run her course. She had done a great job as Terri and her various trials and tribulations; especially like the Neil Phillips and Jack Quade storylines.
I was thoroughly impressed with her performance in The Society Muders, where she plays a woman coming to terms with her mother and step-father's death, and her brother and sister-in-law's involvement. I really hope Georgie gets another TV role soon, or at least enough juicy roles to keep us on our TV screens for a while to come.

I was writing an article on the character of Ben Stewart for a blog recently, and I had to stop twice because I was laughing too hard at how pathetically sad his character was when it came to personal relationships. It was a testimony to Paul Bishop's acting ability that I was riveted, not laughing at how pathetically sad Ben was, to his storylines. Bishop is a fine example of quality Australian writing, and I was sorry that towards the end of his run on Blue Heelers he had very little to do. I hope a TV producer out there somewhere feels the same way I do, and gives him a decent role in a quality show.

I was really disappointed the way they screwed around the character of Tess in Roswell; I thought De Ravin was one of the show's best actors, and ran cirlces around Shiri Appleby. I feel the character got sacrified for the ship, and in a terrible way that reeked of the writers not knowing what the hell they were doing. I knew that Colin Hanks and Emilie De Ravin were leaving at the end of season two by the begining of season two, and I watched the show, looking for clues that the writers had actually planned it that way. Instead, it appears such a huge development was planned quite apruptly, and is a symptom of inconsistant writing. I was sorry such a terrific actress got sacrificed because of it - I would much rather have had Emilie then Shiri.
Fortunately, Emilie got the last laugh on the shippers by having a starring role in the hit TV series Roswell. Not only that, but she's Australian :p

I was talking to another scifi friend yesterday, and it reminded me of how much I hated Shiri Appleby in Roswell. Liz was the ultimate Mary-Sue, always demanding attention and never doing wrong (and when she did wrong, it was someone else's fault, usually Tess's.) I saw her in Swimfan, where she showcased just as bad acting, as well as not having done ANYTHINK about her pronunciation.
I thought Roswell had the potential to be a good show, but was ultimately ruined by uneven writing and poor acting by the leads. I thought Emilie De Ravin, Colin Hanks and Majandra Defino (??) between them could have done much more with the show. At least De Ravin got the last laugh with Lost.

Colin Hanks has quite a gift for light comedy (he'll probably hate me for this comparison, but it's the same touch Tom had in stuff like Splash and Big) and I'd love to see him in something more dramatic.

He was one of the best things in ROswell, IMHO, which was spoiled by the terrible acting of Shiri Appleby and Jason Behr. I think his last name has done him more harm then good; Hollywood is full of tall poppy symdrome. I mean, no matter how succuessful 24 is, Kiefer Sutherland is still Donald's son. But I really hope he gets some decent to do in the future, because his talent is just going to waste.

I used to love Big Sky, and it took me several weeks to place where I recognised Evie Ballytine from; Alexandra Fowler plays Evie and the lead female in Big Sky. The two roles are so different, which is a real tribute to Fowler's acting ability. Her BS character was more polished and professional, with the arrogance of wealth, where Evie is something of a laid-back hippie who makes a living as a singer. I think she's got a great voice as well, which we get to see several times in All Saints. She doesn't make a lot of appearance, but she always gets a decent role when she appears onscreen. I'd like to see more of her.

I haven't seen Wil Traval in anything but All Saints (Hates the novel Jessica, specifically, hated the ending, and refused to see any considerable amount of the miniseries) but I think he's fantastic as Doctor Jack Quade on All Saints. Whenevr he gets a dominating storyline, he really shines. The Charlotte's pregnancy storyline was heartbreaking, and I really felt for him during the Deanna Richardson storyline. Unfortunately, TPTB seem to have little for him to do since, although I like what I've seen of his new dynamics with Dan.
One of the shows best actors, and I hope they give him more to do in the future. (And from what I saw of Jessica, he was damn good.)
