My passion and interest for games started when I was about 2 or 3, playing on my dad's SNES, as he got higher in his jobs, he never seemed to get the time to play it anymore so inevitably became mine. But we always used to play together, and rent out games from Blockbuster. Truth be told, we actually only owned 2 games. Super Mario Bros. and (embarrassingly) Thomas the tank engine. I also owned a SEGA MegaDrive, this time it was mine. And from what I can remember, it couldn't save. So I remember getting somewhere in Donald Duck: Duck Hunt ( I think that’s its name but I’m not sure) and then turning off, resulting in the loss of all that data. So, playing with my mum, didn't turn it off, instead we progressed as far as we could, and then leave it on overnight. From what my mum and I can remember we left it on for a total of 16 nights, and we couldn't complete that one last level. Finally a friend came over and asked if he could play a different game, my mum agreed, and realised what had happened afterwards, so by then it was too late. Going back to my SNES, we were unable to rent out more games due to the shop moving onto the next gen consoles (at this time it was the PlayStation and Nintendo 64) so unable to get more games, resulted in getting another console, because the previous was Nintendo, I decided to get a Nintendo 64, it was this console now that had developed my love for Nintendo, the first game I played on it was Banjo Kazooie, and still today remains my favourite game ever, And I don't rent games anymore, as they now seem a rip off, rather now I trust my magazines to find the right game for me. Obviously I own a GameCube which you might have guessed by now, but no other consoles apart from the MegaDrive, SNES, GBA (and SP) and DS. I do plan on getting a Wii, and considering maybe (just maybe) getting an XBOX 360. My reason for this is that, after a long brutal day at school, coming home absolutely shattered, the last thing I could do is throw my arms about like a lunatic. And some games will be better suited to buttons rather than arms. Don't get me wrong I am very much looking forward to the Wii as that is my first priority.
I live in London and currently still in high school, doing my first year of my GCSE's. Apart from the compulsory ones, I study, Art and Graphics. Afterwards I plan on staying onto to sixth form to do my A levels and finally going to University. After that I have no idea where I would like to work or where I would like to take my career. I wouldn't mind doing it in games, which is what I’ve thought about the most, but I have had other ideas, which I decided against, such as working in the police force. I think GameSpot is getting a little boring these days, because of the lack of games in development, not because of GameSpot itself, but as soon as the next 2 consoles are out, it will be perfect. In my free time I go sailing, where my friends there are completely different. Its a place where I can forget everything and live in my own world. Outside of school, and Gamespot. That’s the place I would forever like to be.
