Politics rant & weekly fixes

You know, I finally started with the 'West Wing'. Since this is not shown in my country I once again have to see that I get it through other channels...thanks to whoever invented DVDs.

However, I like this show. I've been rather fed up with politics ever since I graduated, seeing that it REALLY was the same time and time and time again since...let's say 60 or so years. In my country as well as overseas with always the same premise:
The people are too dumb too get their own act together.
I'm not blaiming politicians here (although Mr. Bush really is as dumb as the people who elected him but that's a totally different perspective anyway), they're only doing their job. The problem is that they can't do their job when the people don't see that they are. Sure, some measures aren't popular at all, but they still have to be acted out. And when one administration failed to do so the other has to make up for it and the people have to bear with more cuttings and more stuff at once. Sadly, the people are dumb and don't get it. Run to teh opposition. Or even worse, run into extreme directions. Is that a solution? Of course not. But people are idiots.

Anyway, this shouldn't be the topic here. But you see what it's all about and why I'm so fed up with it. Not that we could change anything at all, just the few of us who realize. Those who realize either get desperate and resign (me) or they become politicians and the whole circle starts anew. Why not go into politics? Let's see... Having to deal with this 24/7? No thanks.

Since it's Saturday I also took care of my weekly new episodes fix.

The 4400: I really liked the first season but this second is somehow not really knocking it off. I keep getting bored and it's a bad sign if a show bores me.

The Inside: The story line was a little predictable. I really gotta say this but well, what can I do? I still enjoy the show though since there always is a little character developement and we get to see who the people are and where their motives are coming from. They could have made the plot a little different though. Little blond girls are always evil, one should get used to it.

The Dead Zone: Jennifer Finnigan. I was surprised to see her...and she almost died. It's a little like Devon (Crossing Jordan) is back since she hasn't changed a bit...and her character was rather similar as well.
I was a little disappointed about Johnny's view on the boy being braindead...or rather how he dealt with it. He of all people should know this stuff. Okay, he came back but he wasn't braindead, he always had a readable EEG and wasn't on life support most of the time either.
And also, what happened to teh surgery he should have had? After 'Broken Circle' no one ever lost a word on that. He more or less obviously didn't have it (or did he have it and it was just wasn't mentioned since between 'Broken Circle' and 'The Collector' there actually was a year in between?), so what's with his brain now? A little frustrating it is.

Oh and when that grunty in '.hack//sign' died...I cried so hard... Not only because it was so cute and obviously knew it had to die but... This always reminds me that my dog will soon be dead as well. But I've come to the conclusion, when something that you really love and hold dear dies you're allowed to cry as hard as you want. Bottling up grief inside isn't good, it forever eats at you and makes your heart ache with desparation. At least this is my pov, you can get your own if you like.
