Starting with the PS3 dying, many of my electronics are taking it as their cue to do the same. The weekend after my PS3 gave up the ghost, my Blackberry also suffered a great deal. A fall to the gravel created a huge crack in the screen. I can replace it for $50, just haven't gotten around to it yet. My computer was next in line as it took one for the team living to a ripe age of 3 years which is pretty average for a laptop. It has already been replaced since I can't go very long without a computer.

I was thinking of a game to pass the time since I haven't been playing that many in the past month, and I had narrowed it down to Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (PSP) and Chrono Trigger (DS), FFT was what I had decided to play so I attempted to power up my PSP only it wouldn't. I plugged in the charger thinking all was well, 30 seconds later it turns off with no response. Not even the charge light comes on. It may just be a defective charger, but I didn't want to waste $15 if that's not the case. No one seems to have used chargers for me to test my theory at the moment so I'm just going to wait it out.

So of course I decided to play Chrono Trigger. Everything was fine and dandy until yesterday when I opened the system... and the hinge broke. I've had the DS for 4 years and haven't had any problems so this is just a minor thing since it still actually works for now. Maybe now I'll grab the DSi since I still have my GBA, but I haven't decided yet.

I finally shipped off my PS3 on Monday and now I'm anxious for it to arrive safely home again. I had purchased Demon's Souls and it has been sitting here patiently waiting for me to play it for the past 2 weeks. I also imported Katamari Damacy Tribute (aka Katamari Forever in the US) so I definitely wanted my PS3 back before that arrives.

I haven't bought any games in the past 3 weeks which is pretty impressive for me, but I've been kind of unmotivated with the recent string of events, plus being busy with my new job. I look forward to getting into the swing of things since life is starting to settle down around here. My next blog will hopefully be a lot less depressing.

Wow, sorry to hear it all!

I'd bet your PSP charger is fine based on what you said about the system. It is probably a dead battery or system.

Sorry to hear about the horrible luck in terms of electronic devices. I'm still trying to get my X-Box fixed. So annoying. My Wii and DS are the only systems right now that keep me in the gaming world. I finished Madworld the other day. I'm playing Chrono Trigger too! It's a wonderful game. Just as I remember it from my childhood. Nintendo has the most durable systems in my opinion. It took you 4 years for the DS hinge to break. Amazing really. Does your SNES still work like mine does?

Ouch! That, well bad luck. When you say the hinge has cracked on you DS does it still work or is it just cosmetic...mine did that

@PJ24 - it still works, i'm using it now, it is loose so i don't expect it to last too much longer now.

Oh, so you haven't had a PSP for very long then. I've had a 2000 since they came out in 2007 and it has worked great the whole time. Hope it isn't a defective system.

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you have a DS Lite or a regular DS?

Sorry to hear about your problems. I hope my PS3 doesn't die!! I watch a lot of Blu Ray movies on it. And play games of course. My Wii should last forever since I haven't played it in nearly a year!!! Hope all works out for you.

That's really bad luck you've got there. Hopefully your PS3 will come back soon so that you can start playing again.
I myself had only one problem with my consoles and handhelds, I got the RROD 2 years ago on my 360 but since then - "crosses fingers, touches wood"- I haven't had any.

Sorry to hear about all the terrible bad luck!
I had my string of bad luck last November when my PSP UMD drive lens got damaged just as it's warranty period expired. And my 360 got RROD'd. Luckily the latter was under warranty.

Wow, that sounds like something you only see in movies.. Some bad luck right there, I'm sorry to hear that.. My DS's hinge is broken too, but it still works. I've heard it's a common problem.

Good to hear you're enjoying Demon's Souls! I'll probably import it once it's out in the US. I also preordered Katamari Damacy Forever, but I've got a small dilemma, if you could call it that. I'd really appreciate if you have the time to read my latest blog regarding that!
