I had an amazing week at family camp. It was beautiful and pretty hot too. I barely did any reading or playing flute because I was having a blast. This year was my seventh year and the 51st of my camp- camp blue (but camp gold is older and camp oski is a lot younger). I am going to list some highlights and just ask me if you want me to explain any thing.
*Playing games with my cousin, aunt, her partner, and whoever would join us. We played Uno, Old Maid, Crazy Eights, this guessing game, and a two huge games of Apples to Apples (the Jewish Edition) one of which was during the talent show. For every card- Paula Abdul would have one (ex: Talented, Misunderstood, Easy, etc).
*Building a dam with my five year old cousin in the creek. Playing the bee game/ keep away. He says the funniest thing ever (when we were leaving he said "Back to misery".
*Going paddle boating and going on the log. Then going back another afternoon to try to walk all the way across the logs (there are probably 10-15 and they move a lot)
* Walking a lot. Around camp, to the lake, etc.
*The Where's Waldo audio book (it was a really funny skit)
*Mike and Marylin White (the camp directors and amazing skits). Mike White was a college football coach.
*Playing family wed (like Newlyweds) with my mom (getting 5/6 correct) and picking on my dad.
*Almost winning $80 in Disco Bingo. I was tied for second in the game where you stand up and play until a number on your board is called and then you sit down and are out.
*Some fun show. The Hoot was amazing!
*Swimming in the pool and the lake as well as hiking around the lake.
*Painting a tile, making a hella awesome lanyard, and tie dying.
*Going to huge parties (Sun and Thurs) and have a happy hour everyday.
*Party boating!!!! Swimming, rock jumping, water fights, etc. I jumped off a 25 foot rock and screamed so loud! It was amazing. Someone said awkward turtle and one of the counselors (who is so cool) said "Where?" and when we laughed she said, "I though you meant there was an awkward turtle swimming in the water. Don't tell anyone I said that."
*Going to the teen mixer and then crashing a pool party trying to meet cool people. At the mixer "people just stood around like awkward ducks."
*Going to the teen dance after the final show and getting back a little before one. Hung out with some cool people and freaked with two guys. The light was flashing and everything looked hella trippy.
*Going out to dinner with my family (including my aunt and her family which will be bigger in October! Her partner is seven months pregnant). My five year old cousin started yelling, "I'm stonned. " It was really funny.
I could go on and on but this is a blog, not a novel so that's it for another 51 weeks until we pack up our bags and drive back up to the Lair for another fantastic week. I will update on everything else later in the week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

The animal mascot of the awkward moment. When you're in an awkward moment, place your hands on top of each other, and spin your thumbs forward. Thus creating the creature know as awkward turtle.
(Gets on soapbox) "We want a novel! We want a novel!" Oh well. (Falls off soapbox)
Thanks for the details. Glad to have you back here in "misery" with the rest of us. You know what they say, "Misery loves company!"
Seriously, though, most of the things sound like fun: Tie dying, dam building, "Family wed." Cool stuff.
