These days I found myself wondering about gaming, I wondered how games would look like on other engines, and I came up with some pretty neat ideas.

You all know Tom Clancy right? The one from Tom Clancy's games, which according to the hardcore players, went downhill, anyway, for those who have read his books, like me, well, you guys recognize Tom knows what he's talking about when it's about war, Red Storm Rising is a book based on a fictional war beetween NATO and Warsaw Pact countries, and there's also, The Bear and the Dragon, which is about Russia discovering oil deposits just as big as the Persian Gulf, and gold mines, in Siberia, and China wants Siberia now. Red Storm Rising was a preview of what war would become in a few years, when it was released in 1986, and it succeeded becoming a New York Times best seller, The Bear and The Dragon was also a best seller.Actually, there was a Red Storm Rising game back in 1988,but obviously, it's not included in the future gaming category. ARMA 2's Real Virtuality is the engine that could work for a game like this, I mean, ARMA 2's graphics, which are only comparable to the almighty graphics king Crysis, are already worthwhile, but with it's hardcore gameplay, which is pretty realistic, and lots of weapons and vehicles, it's one of the only ones capable of reproducing war on your PC, though I don't know if it could do something like sea battles, SAMs, Dogfights, giant tank battles, realistic urban combat, evertyhing packed into a POSSIBLE military action, not just some random army stuff happenning around a country.Too bad Ubisoft is a money hungry bi*** and they won't let Tom Clancy do anything.

Red Storm Rising

Cool eh?

Horror games are a delicate topic, because you know, it's known as a dying genre, there aren't many horror titles coming lately, titles like Dead Space had crittical apraise, but according to the hardcore crowd, it ain't a true title to the genre, and I have to agree with them, one of the most notable features of horror titles is your vulnerability, and I have to say Isaac Clarke ain't a defenseless dude, Shepherd from the Silent Hill series, is a soldier, and he fights pretty well against those monsters. So, if it's dying, what can we do to save it? The answer my friends, is graphics, and therefore, I would like you to see this.Impressive, but what i'm really going to point out for you guys, is the advanced animation, of course Silent Hill 2 for example, would be way more creepier on CryEngine 3, more realistic graphics mean a scarier atmosphere. But the reason why I was mentioning the advanced animation, was the fact that monsters could be way more scarier with those extra details, monsters are scary by nature, but monsters which look almost real on your screen would be awesome.

Jericho Monster

Admit it, you wouldn't like to picture this on CryEngine 3 right?

Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines is a great game, everyone knows it right? Too bad it was buggy at the time of it's release, the community fixed it's bugs, and now it's the best vampire game i've ever played, and it's on the better Rpg's list, still, I would like to see a follow up, and not on Source Engine or any other ordinary engine, I want Scimitar Engine for this one. The name might not sound familiar, well, this happens because it's not open for modding (sadly), it's the amazing engine that powers Assassin's Creed and Prince Of Persia games, it has beautiful graphics and great animations. Besides, I would like to see how Scimitar can handle other types of games. Bloodlines combat could be an spectacle of animation just like AC's, and I really wanted to see the stealth rebuilt, I feel like Vampire The Masquerade could greatly benefit from AC's stealth and climbing, jumping, etc, mechanics, a vampire moving through modern day new york through it's rooftoops, hm? It seems like a pretty good alternative to the ''becoming a bat'' or even vampires that run like flash, like those on Twilight ,it would be a great way to pursue other vampires, or even escaping the police, or even reaching your objectives, besides, it would be great to see how Assassin's Creed with guns could be like.

Saints Row 2 is a good game, ok, it's a crappy port indeed, but THQ cut CD Projekt's fundings for SR2, they couldn't improve the game anymore, so that's why the game stayed that way. Well, by no means it's a bad game, it's what GTA IV should've been, Saints Row 2 has LOTS (I mean it) of activities, funny physics, and it's funny enough, know what's missing? No, not GTA IV's physics, destruction, Saints Row's is limited to a few objects, cars, etc, know what I would like to see? Saints Row 3 on GeoMod engine, the same engine that allows us to break everything on Red Faction Guerrilla, I can already imagine myself storming a car into a bulding in Saints Row 3, getting stuck inside the building, and open a way out with my RPG, then jump out of the building and use a parachute to save my life. The objective of Saints Row is to create chaos and mayhem, and it would be great to do that in an architectural way, not just order an airstrike and see a building falling down (Hear that Mercenaries 2?).

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, I don't know about the next one though.I will figger something out.

Well, I know it's been quite a while since the last post and October is long over, but you know, I quite forgot my blog. And I won't let a story unfinished.I just realized the camera and the posts dates are different, so I don't know if I put the right dates or not. Anyway. After the supposed October 14th, here's what happenned:

I WENT SKYING! AND IT'S PUR FUC**** OURSOM! It's really easy and I have to admit I was quite good at it, I wore all that ski stuff, and I have to say, it was awful, It felt like I was dressed in battle armor or something, anyway, when I got to Vale Nevado, the ski station, I only had one hour and fifteen minutes until the station closed, so I had to act quickly, I hired a teacher, and the guy, well, we wasn't very sympathetic, anyway, when I learned it, I only had 15 minutes, I ran and I managed to go up and down like three times, but you know, slowly, I'm not in a videogame or any kinda version of Tony Hawk skying game. Anyway, after we were finished, we went downtown, and we went to Falabella, and we stayed there 3 hours straight, buying stuff. and when it was all over, well, we were very, very tired, we took a cab (it was a Lexus this time, not a BMW ;] ), and went for the closest place to eat, Shopping Mall Las Condes, we didn't eat anything because of some random problem with the credit card, anyway, we got something at the hotel, I can't remember what it was though.

The day after was the last one,we went to the zoo, and took some pictures of them animals, but nothing impressive, lots of animals of course, and the place was pretty clean, after the zoo, we realized we had smartly left a LOT of things to buy on the last day, like presents and gifts, and we even had to split to get some stuff, anyway, we made it out alive at our last day, tired, but you know, happy. When we got together again at Parque Arauco, something strange happenned, we had bought some stuff at Paris, and everything normal until we went to another store, the alarm sounded, I got worried, and the sales guy said '' Oh, it ain't our fault, you can walk away because I have taken off everything that could trigger the alarm, I told my mom, ''Check them things mom, something triggered that alarm'' and she said ''Nah, no problems, we'll be alright'' . We ate at KFC, and I mourned for the fact that Belo Horizonte doesn't have KFC yet, Kentucky Fried Chicken is great. We had to sleep early because our flight was at 7.am, and since my mom said we have to check in 2 hours earlier, well, 5 AM: ''I'm up mom, i'm up''. But anyway, we were almost sleepwalking because our bags wouldn't close, we bought another one earlier and it didn't matter, it was a hell of a job to close the bag. Only to realize one of my mom's biggest mistakes, there it was, the alarm trigger, one of those things which keep you from running away with a pair of stolen pants from a store, anyway, there it was, on my beautiful white Nike shirt, apparently, someone forgot taking it off, and since I wouldn't leave it there, I told my mom: ''Find the commercial invoice''. She had hidden them so well in those bags she couldn't find it, and of course I wouldn't ask for the hotel to bring pliers in unless we had that thing, so I took a scissor, and started my work to remove that thing, I managed to rip it off, with a few tiny little holes on my shirt, but it took one hour and a half.

I got dressed, and got to the airport, the flight went pretty well, I watched ''The Proposal'', had some good laughs, and then I started to sing Robbie Williams. On São Paulo, we had a stopover of five hours or something, and we had some problem with the check in, because we had passed the weight limit, by 35 kilos. Anyway, we paid for the overweight, and we got going. When we got to Belo Horizonte, I was relieved I was finally home, I was missing my friends already.

Chile was a great trip, and I recommend it to everyone who has got a girlfriend, most perfect place for dating ever. Besides, there are lots of things to do.

Well guys, it has been hard to even touch this PC to write a blog, I have to walk all day long for this big city called Santiago, I arrive at the hotel tired as a miner and I go straight to bed, so sorry if I couldn't post anything for you guys, i'll make up for it though.

Monday - October 12

I woke up six in the morning, I don't know why I should, I mean, the bus guy would only arrive at 8 AM, anyway, my mom wanted it that way, and I did it, anyway, the shower here is pretty awesome, and I have a bathtub, but I didn't use it until yesterday, when I was pretty sure no actual bacteria could've survived so many hot showers. Anyway, I ate my bacon and egg breakfast, and I headed for the snowy mountains of Santiago, I didn't go to Valle Nevado, I went to Colorado, a smaller ski station, with lots of buildings and houses, only to find that it was closed and I couldn't find anyone except for some homeless dogs, apparently Chile is riddled with those, they are left in the street, and the Chileans love animals, they feed them, so they really don't look abandoned, they're all fat and immune to diseases. I ate salmon at a local restaurant and when I returned to Santiago I went straight to Parque Arauco, the biggest shopping mall around here, and bought some clothes, really cheap round here in comparison to Brazil, I had dinner at a restaurant called Giratorio, it actually spins, and it's really cool, I tried to attach myself to a wall but I got pulled so hard I couldn't resist, ate another salmon, and when it was over, I did one of the dumbest things i've ever done, as me and my mom were walking out of the building, a car stopped in front of us, and I went for the driver to ask if he was a cab driver, he said ''No, no soy taxi'', and he did an angry face, my mom started laughing, and I noticed I was asking a guy driving a BMW if he was a cab driver, anyway, that was fun.

Tuesday - October 13

Woke up again at 6 AM, I had to leave earlier today because I was going to Valparaiso and Viña Del Mar, which are pretty much opposite cities, i'll explain why later.Had the same breakfast except for the fact I found a giant toaster that could do some pretty nice toasts, after I had eaten, I left for the tour bus.It took one hour from Santiago to Valparaiso, the city is pretty poor, thing is, it was one of the most succesful ports in Santiago, because it had acess to the pacific ocean, and that brought wealth to the local population, but then, Panama Canal was built, and there was no use for Valparaiso anymore, ship traffic reduced to a minimal ammount of what it once was, and the city broke down, people moved from the expensive area of the town, and started to build favelas on the close mountais, Pablo Neruda, the famous guy from Chile who's a painter, a writer, a politician, and everything from guy who wears a taco costume to Steven Seagal, he's like a straight Clive Barker, except for the fact he writes poems, and I hate that kinda stuff.

Clive.

I still love you man, I'm not hitting on you Ok?

His house is quite awesome, it has got bizarre design choices like a minimum sized stairs from which an obese person couldn't get through because they are extremely tight, and some strange furniture, like a carrousel horse on the middle of his living room.Anyway, he lived in the favela, and I have to say chilean favelas are great, they are kinda clean for one, and the houses are pretty nice, I would live on one of those. There's almost nothing for tourists round here except for a plaza and another.

Viña del Mar is the opposite, it has expensive buildings, food,it's the place where Chile's richest and finest come to party, sun bathing and do all kind of things rich people do, showing off your Porsche or Nissan 350Z.I ate salmon at a local restaurant, one of the curious things I noticed about Viña Del Mar, it's 60º degree buildings, with a nice view for the pacific ocean beach, which is cold, that's why I didn't swim, these places are pretty nice. When I came back to Santiago I had dinner at a local restaurant called Chilenazo, which was the cheapest place I've eaten round here, when I saw the plate filled with food, I knew I couldn't take it, said and done, anyway, it was delicious.

Wednesday - October 14.

I went to a vineyard from a famous international company called Cocha Y Toro, I mean, it was cool to see where they stored the wine and stuff, but I wanted to see some of them guys making the wine, I discovered the wine Casilero Del Diablo has this name because of an old history, wine was being stolen, vineyard owner makes up a story that the devil lives in the vineyard, superstitious chilean people stop stealing (actually, they're still superstitious as hell, my hotel for example, on the elevator buttons, I can't find the thirteenth, they erased it, and I don't know if the floor does not exist, or what. I had to prove some wine so I could win a fine wine cup, and I did it, I don't like wine, but I did it for the cup, and my mom asked me toanyway. When we came back, we went to the central market, and I had some salmon as well, but this time it was bad, it seems like Chileans have a thing with raspberry, my salmon was filled with it, and it sucked. As we came back, we went for the shopping mall again, but this time, we bought stuff quickly, I bought myself two sneakers and clothes, and my mom bought a perfume. We had dinner at a place called Bali Hai, and it looked chilean, but it was hawaian, the food was great, and old people dancing is kinda fun to see, there was a colombian guy who had drank too much and he was partying like if he was John Travolta.

One thing I forgot to tell, at the flight, one guy almost died, he was ressurected, cool eh?

Later I will tell you more.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like rmfd341.
rmfd341 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could rmfd341 possibly have for not rating a single film?
