Jin Kazama is the current protagonist of the Tekken series, and has been featured in every Tekken game since his creation. He is a Japanese male with black hair that is spiked upwards. Jin's hairstyl3 appears to be a mixture of Kazuya's hairstyl3 and Jun Kazama's bangs (fringes). Jin has a black mark on one of his arms, which Devil has branded onto him.
Jin is related to many key characters in the series. He is the son of Kazuya Mishima and Jun Kazama, and grandson of Heihachi Mishima. He is also the great grandson of Jinpachi Mishima (Tekken 5 and Tekken: Dark Resurrection as the final boss), and also the cousin of Asuka Kazama, although the two don't seem to be aware of their relation.

During The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2 (Tekken 2), Kazuya and Jun crossed paths and were intimate. Jun found herself pregnant with Jin immediately afterwards. The Devil that possessed Kazuya attempted to enter Jin while he was still in his mother's womb, but Jun defeated it. Wishing to raise her son alone, Jun disappeared into a remote mountain location, where she raised Jin and trained him in her Kazama-styl3self-defense fighting styl3. After many years, Jun sensed the approaching of a great evil (Ogre) and told Jin that if anything happened to her, that he should seek his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima. Jun's words proved to be prophetic, and some time after Jin's 15th birthday, Jun was attacked by Ogre. Some time later, Jin awoke amongst rubble and searched for his mother, but he could not find her anywhere. Jin swore revenge.
