To be honest I never really played Street Fighter II when it was popular. I Only remember playing the arcade version once or twice and watched a bunch of people playing it.

I also didn't watch much of that Street Fighter cartoon either. Only when I visit Philippines is when I watched a few episodes.
Even though I never really played it or watched the TV show Street Fighter was popular and iconic enough for me to know who Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li were. I knew Ryu and Ken's special move was the haduken! while Chun-Li was that upside down spin kick thing.
But things are changing. My bro bought Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix (try saying that 3 times fast) on Xbox Live Arcade and now as a gamer I can now proudly say that I know how to do a haduken (unfortunately for me I can't do it all the time at will). One thing I have to say it's pretty hard doing those special moves because of Xbox 360's crappy D-pad and the fact that i'm not used to the analog stick. I NEED AN ARCADE STICK!
The only thing I regret from getting SSF2THR is that my thumbs hurt.
