Grindhouse
Grindhouse is a fantastic film, and sure to please anyone who is prepared for what they are going to see. The performances were fantastic and the writing was very well done(not to mention the special effects, which were beyond amazing).

8 1/2
While the film is beautiful, 8 1/2 really is not my cup of tea. The plot is so scattered, many things appear to be abstract, and the voices usually don't sync up with the mouths that are supposedly speaking. Throughout the whole film I was...

Man About Town
I'm HUGE fan of Ben Affleck (one of our generation's most under-appreciated actors in my opinion) but I was really disappointed in this film. Affleck plays a Hollywood agent who comes into a hard time relating to both his work and home lives, not...

The 400 Blows
The 400 Blows is a film about a young man who really can't catch a break at home or at school, so he decides to try life out on his own. It's incredibly moving at times, and often hilarious. Definitely a must-see for any movie buff.

Orgazmo
I agree with the critics AND minimax34...this is definitely the least funny out of Trey Parker's efforts. The concept is genius, but the jokes seem so tacky and forced, while the performances (with the exception of Parker and his buddy Stone, who...

Flags Of Our Fathers
Flags of Our Fathers is a movie with its heart in the right place, the problem is that the film relies on feeling for these characters, and I found myself maybe caring about one of them a tiny bit. The story jumps back and forth between three time...

Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic
A really funny stand-up concert performance that is occasionally brought down by the added scripted scenes. Sarah is one of the few bright lights in America's comedy scene.

The Eye
The Eye is about Mun, a blind woman who gets a "haunted" eye transplant, allowing her to see, with the consequence of seeing dead people. While this sounds like it would be exactly like the Sixth Sense, The Eye never really manages to be...

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai
Ghost Dog is a very interesting film concerning a hitman (played by Forest Whitaker) that lives by the rules of the Samurai. Whitaker gives a very solid performance, making the subject matter seem not as ridiculous as it sounds.
The movie...

The Illusionist
The performances in this film are very strong, but as a whole I felt that the plot was spread a little bit thin. There are far too many parts of this movie that really just feel boring, which is a shame. I would like to see a tighter cut edition....

Double Dare
A fantastic documentary that really draws you into the lives of the two main subjects, both of whom are professional stunt-women looking for work. Appearances by both Steven Spielberg and Quentin Tarantino add to the film, almost giving it a sense...

Badlands
The film's script it engaging, but it is shot and acted in a way that isn't very engaging. The two protagonists are completely emotionless and flat throughout the entire film, but perhaps that was the director's intention.

Reservoir Dogs
A great film with fantastic dialogue. Every single scene has excellent character interaction, and although we never seen the heist that the film is built around, the film never seems like something is missing. A fantastic first outing for...

All That Heaven Allows
The fact that this film was put out on DVD by Criterion is kind of...well...hilarious. Not a whole lot to see here. A typical romantic drama involving troubles with social classes. Rock Hudson is inadvertently hysterical, but other than that,...

On The Waterfront
Marlon Brando really shines in this tale of loyalty and corruption. Leonard Bernstein's score is a little over-the-top at times, but is still really moving and adds a lot to the film. A must see for any living thing.

300
A very satisfying film that is visually brilliant. The acting is superb...the effects are unbelievable. Truly a must see for anyone who is a fan of Frank Miller or of Sin City.

PM me if you want to know the few "nit-picky"...

Casino Royale
A truly great Bond film, even though it doesn't really feel like you're watching Bond. Craig is so stone-faced and serious throughout most of the movie, that the film just feels like a really good action movie.

Saw
Saw was the spark that ignited the recent "torture film" craze, and it remains one of the best. The story is very creepy and somewhat unpredictable, while the performances, although a bit over-the-top, are very interesting to watch....

Battle Royale II
This film is plagued with problems, the first being that it's downright boring. The first movie had plenty of hand to hand combat, and interesting ways for the kids to die. In this sequel, if the kids aren't being shot, their heads are exploding....

Battle Royale
A very violent film just dripping with social commentary. The performances are mostly over-the-top, but seem to work in this movie, due to the outrageousness of the plot. Not for the faint of heart.

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
While not quite as funny as most of his stuff in Da Ali G Show, Cohen's anti-semetic character really shines in this film. The only things that takes away from this film are the scripted parts between actors. The hilarity in this film is when...

Night And Fog
Night and Fog is a short documentary concerning the horrors of WWII concentration camps. The film is both effective and chilling due to the footage of the victims. An extremely graphic film that shows the monstrocities committed at these camps.

Amadeus
While the story is amazing (and many parts are supposedly true), this film is worth your time simply because of Tom Hulce. An amazing performance. One of the best of all time.

Dead & Breakfast
The front of the DVD declares that this film is "The American answer to Shaun of the Dead"... nothing could be more false. This film thinks that it is funnier than it really is. There are some good ideas here, but none of the gags really...

Spun
Spun is a very stylized film about the horrors of Meth. While it can be argued that the plot is a bit scattered, and the performances are more characatures than characters, I think that it is done for a reason: to show what life is like under the...
