Two weeks early, baby Teresa Victoria arrived in late May and is as healthy as can be!

Big brother Julian is actually thrilled (thank goodness ).

Teresa is a relatively easy baby so far, and will occasionally sleep in four hour blocks at night. She nurses well, doesn't cry too much, and does not suffer excessively from her still maturing digestive system. She is a sweet little baby that loves to snuggle...

And has lots of beautiful dark hair...

Here she is at the hospital salon.

The last three weeks before she arrived were sheer agony with all the trips to the hospital for monitoring, and I am ecstatic that this pregnancy is finally over and that everything turned out so much better than I could have imagined. Life is definitely different (not too mention full of lots more diapers and laundry and lots less sleep and computer time!), but we are thoroughly enjoying the richness baby Teresa's presence brings to our days!

Congratulations!! She's adorable

Oh my God, Teresa is beautiful! I love her dark hair. In my experience the second baby was "easier" too, but that could just be that I was more relaxed.

I'm so happy for you Raven. I saw the picture with Julian in and thought that Teresa would probably grow lots of amazing dark hair like him - then I saw the photos of her hair and saw it's already happened
She looks just amazing! I'm so happy for you, and glad that you're having an alright time with such a little one.

Raven, she is just beautiful! I love the pictures of her snuggled up to you. So sweet! And Julian looks like he's a terrific big brother. I'm so happy for you and your family. Well done! I hope you're getting some rest here and there. Big hugs to you!

Thanks so much everyone. I feel quite guilty because I have hardly been around and I have not been keeping up with all your blogs, and yet here you all are, with such kind and warm thoughts!

Rochelle: You have been such a good friend, and quite an inspiration in ways you cannot even imagine! Thank you...

Whitney: I am so very glad you stopped by...!

Shana: I'm just praying she'll have Julian's temperament as well as his dark hair. He was quite the Zen baby as an infant. Of course, now he's almost three, so all bets are off...

Kathy: I definitely feel way more relaxed with Teresa than I was with Julian. What a relief to really know that crying won't kill them!

Marie: Thank you, and I completely agree with you!

Steph: Thanks! The tech who conducted the 20 week ultrasound was quite certain it was a girl, and we were happy to believe her. I'm glad she was right!

Oh, you escaped punishment once before so you're bound to get the hard one now then I don't know much about babies, but I would have guessed sleeping in four hour blocks already is pretty damn good though! Lets hope she takes a leaf out of Julian's book then, and continues to be so peaceful

What a relief to really know that crying won't kill them!
Never a truer word... enjoy every minute, they grow up so quickly, especially after the first!
Congratulations and I wish you every happiness

Don't worry about not being able to keep up with blogs. We know you have your hands full!

Shana: I definitely spoke too soon! The last two nights she has been extremely fussy and crying hard from about 9pm to midnight, then waking up every two hours to nurse, which, with diaper change included, takes about an hour. So I am hardly sleeping! No rest for the wicked, I guess... I think the fussiness is supposed to peak at six weeks and then gradually lessen, so I only have about a week of to go...

Linsey: enjoy every minute, they grow up so quickly, especially after the first! You are very right. Julian astounds me with how grown-up he's been lately, but he will always be my “tiny little baby,” as I sometimes call him when he’s being particularly sweet and cuddly. I hope to savor every moment of this innocent time with both my children, while I’m still the person they like to be with the most! And if I’m lucky, as it sounds you are from how you write about your children, they will still like hanging out with me (and perhaps even write me a beautiful poem!) when they are older.

Cindy, Taylor, Amy, Megan, Charlotte, and Kelly: Thank you!

Whitney: Slowly I have been able to catch up on reading some of the blogs, but I have not quite mastered holding the baby and typing with one hand, so my comments have been non-existent. Not to mention that my ability to construct a meaningful sentence has once again been seriously compromised by sleep deprivation!

I just wanted to add my congratulations to your happy event! I'm glad there's no sibling rivalry yet (enjoy it while you can!), and that she's such a healthy girl.

You take care now and try to get some rest. Hope you are soon able to catch a few minutes to come and join us again.

Woo-hoo!!!! Babies rule!!!

Oh she's simply beautiful! Enjoy every moment. I'm sure you've noticed after your first child you start to cherish those little moments as often as you can because you've learned how fast they really do grow! Hugs and warm wishes for fewer night feedings!!!
