Has anyone heard of this game? Anyone?
OK, I will admit ad-block missed one of the ads on the side of GS and this caught my eye. I haven't done much looking into it, but it appears to have the battle systems similar to Eternal Sonata, turn-based yet still action based. It was one of the few things that Eternal Sonata did so well I would buy a clone to see the same system again, this time without the balancing problems.
Small aside: Eternal Sonata's battle system was great because it allowed you to take your time thinking about what to do early game, but as you got better the system would slowly turn into an active battle system, turn based on character. The problem was fighting was 99% better than trying to use potions or other items from the inventory. So in the end it was hack hack hack, spell cast / strong hit at the end of the timer.
MagnaCarta 2 also has really good looking magna art style. It is JRPG in all aspects except the studio, which is Korean...
Then I started reading reviews... turns it out it has the Tales series battle system. You control one character... dumb AI the rest. It didn't dive into whether or not it was turn based though. Almost... almost.
Anyhow, if anyone ends up playing this, let me know what you think. I'm most interested in the combat mechanism. I figure TTDog will get to it sooner than later and give it a JRPG score.

I will admit that I've been looking since I saw a review a couple of weeks ago... but I'm only planning on getting one game between now and Christmas and Dragon Age: Origins is out soon... depending on the reviews I'd prefer that to this.
I hated the Tales system, the AI was thick as anything, and it felt so lame when compared to the wonderful Eternal Sonata system which was storming.

I think the Tales system worked incredibly well in Tales of Symphonia, mostly because I made the characters fight and I handled the heavier stuff (like spell casting) through the menus while controlling Lloyd. I haven't played many other Tales games though.
What draws my attention to Magna Carta is the art. Hyung Tae-Kim's work rules... but I never played the games. I love the artist's style and designs though; that alone might make the game worth a try.

@TTDog - Agreed 1000% - the Eternal Sonata system was great.
@Dualmask - it was the art that turned my head right off the bat. As for Tales of Symphonia, I need to get back to that one. It eventually got to the point where the 'action battles' were getting clogged by me constantly going to the menu or the AI would just mess it up. Which led me to think, maybe this action battle stuff really isn't worth it. It was the primary reason I put the game down.

I particularly like the way the attacks and creatures changed depending on whether you were in light or shade, and when you got to the top level the chaining of special attacks was key to getting past the bigger battles... such as the top of the tower in the snowy area when one of your team returns and they take down the boss... she had like a million HP to wear down.

The art looks rather nice, but the battle system seems like it could derail the entire game. I probably wont be getting it. But if someone does I'll be interested in hearing how it is.

Yeah, I loved Eternal Sonata, so if this is anything like it, I'd embrace it fully.
The first one was... okay... wasn't it?
