It's called Gurren Lagann(possibly greatest mecha series of all time). It is the most over the top, nonsensical, and by far craziest anime i've ever seen. I just finished the last episode and wow. That robot is the biggest freaking robot of all time. No contest. It's a fun anime don't exepect anything deep philosophicaly more emotionally. and you will see a lot of drills. I it has really good animation, addictive music ( the song won't leave >.>), and a lovable cast of charecters(which the creators had the balls to kill some off). You might find yourself hating it or loving it. There isn't really a middle ground. If you can handle a nonsensical story line than i suggest you to watch it. I also don't like the mecha designs that much but there different from you're usual mechas so I'll give them that. I also don't like mecha series in general. It's also one of those two animes that has a great dub. If you also want to know who created his it is from the guy who directed FLCL episode 5 and some others but he was not the main director. It's got heart.

OH EFFING SNAP!

I just made a blog and mentioned how awesome it is. What a coinki-dink!

HELLS YEAH! This anime is awesome. I can't believe the creators had the balls to kill off you-know-who so quickly.

The battles are crazy, and every time Gurren and Lagann combine (and the Gurren Brigade logo explodes behind them on screen) I scream out "OH **** YEAH!!!!" It gets me really pumped up every time

The mecha designs were... interesting... I wouldn't say bad designs, because remember that it's a unique mecha anime where they don't all have to look like the typical mechas.

The main OP (Sorairo Days) was stuck in my head all day today... I'm on episode 15 and plan on finishing the series very soon since I'm done all other animes I was watching.

@hazel: Are you at the time skip yet? Also you haven't seen anything until the last episodes NOTHING.

Emmm... Interesting. I'll make sure to hunt for such series. Plus... Hazel is really egging it on. lol. By the looks of it (just did a quick search or it), I'll enjoy such anime.

@thomas: Oh HELLZ YEAH

Not yet. I heard it really speeds up pace-wise around the end. Although, now I realize what that really short clip at the very beginning of the series was all about.

Never watched FLCL at all so I wouldnt know how it was directed. I saw FLCL on TV once (For like 30 seconds) and it was one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. I saw some kid grow a TV with Limbs out of his head. Right there is where I draw the line. But maybe there is some semi-logical explanation to why that happens.

@avatar: FLCL is only like 6 episodes. It's a really tripppy anime with several underlying messages about society, human kind, and growing up. Every time you watch it it makes more sense. It a very unique anime. But that same uniqueness makes it a bit pretentious IMO.

If its that short then ill watch it. But if they dont make sense of a kid growing a tv with limbs out of its head then it can go **** itself and everyone who made it.

@avataraang: Well If you need an explanation just ask me. Ther is like 50 reasons or theories on how and why this happens and what it means.
Posted Dec 15, 2008 6:52 pm PT
I dont want 50 theories I want a one solid FACT with no holes.
Posted Dec 15, 2008 6:58 pm PT
@avatar: There is ONE SOLID fact on what is happening. There is fifty theories on how it happens.

Oh!! so that's why you got that song stuck in your head... you just had an massive therapy while watching that show. Now, about that show... you've intrigued me to the point of considering watching that stuff, but the fact that hazel likes it, and that hazel only likes anime with school girls makes me wonder if it's as good as you guys say.

lol j/k

I'll make sure I search for that. Wish me luck.

I've been debating getting my hands on this anime for a bit. Just have to finish watching Death Note first. Sounds interesting though.

Naruto rocks..... thats all...maybe ill check it out..."maybe"...
Posted Dec 16, 2008 12:21 pm PT
Maybe ill check it out. I have yet to find a mecha anime series that fits my high expectations for what i want to see. Although hearing some characters get killed is good to hear. Can't say i share your love of the song though. The hip hop just doens't seem to fit in with the operatic stuff very well. It clashes to much for me.

@GreenGoblin: Yes, it's just that good...
Posted Dec 16, 2008 4:16 pm PT
Fooly Cooly? Now that's one CRAZY anime. hehe. Awesome stuff. I'll have to check out this though,
