Why do we have Fan Boys?

Gamers should love games.  Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo pay none of us for loyalty.  Gamers love games and should be loyal to the gaming experience.  The system that gives you the experience you are looking for is of little importance.

I love Sony product and will be getting a PS3.  This does not mean that the 360 or Revolution are bad.  If they make games for each of the systems that I would really enjoy.  I may consider getting more than one system.  The reason I choose Sony is because they make the type of games I like and I usually only buy one system to satisfy my gaming needs.  I also have a gaming PC.

I wish the Fan Boys and Girls would grow up and become Gamers instead.  The competition between the 3 companies is what makes the systems improve with time.  If we had no competition, we would be playing crappy games on a weak system.

Well said. It is the games that matter. I can't understand why some people LIMIT themselves to one company out of misplaced loyalty, when as you said, they don't pay us for that.

If someone sticks to one brand because the games they play are there, that's OK and makes sense. Sticking to a company when the games you like are in another platform is fanboyism and doesn't make sense. Personally, I go where the games are, I don't care which machine gives them to me. I'm too old for "brand loyalty". I started gaming before all the "big names" were around (including MS)

Fanboysim is a really strange thing. I mean what's up with "Great game on console A won't come out on console B - that makes my console better then yours"? I don't get the logic. If a great game on my console is coming to your console: good for you, now you can play it too, I can still play it, so it doesn't matter to me. What other people think really doesn't matter to me. If someone think the 360 rules - good for them. I'm buying the ps3 because of the games, and what the system can do. I'm not defending Sony, it's a company. I'm buying a product from them and expecting to get my money worth. System wars is just crazy.
