Okay everyone. I need your help. I am trying to convince my husband to let Toby sleep with Travis on his bed even though the vet and breeder said not too. Travis has a plastic cover on his matteress so if there is an accident, it is easy cleaned. Travis has really been begging us to let them sleep together. Right now, Toby is in a cage in Travis bedroom but Travis is afraid he will hurt himself because he bites on the bars to try to get out. I still don't trust Toby to run the house but they sleep with the door closed anyway so if there was any problems, it will be in one room and we will put him back in the cage. But when Travis has slept in on Saturday or Sunday morning, Toby goes in a lays on his bed until he wakes up. It is so precious! What is everyone's opinion on this? I have bad allergies but I have been fine around him, but my doctor said don't let him sleep with me. But I think we should let him sleep with Travis since Travis is "the best friend and owner." Thoughts?

So I guess you may as well try
Taylor - You are biased because you want him to sleep on your bed too!
Bekka - LOL! Leave it to an animal to tell us our bedtime! I know Toby will sometimes bark at me if I am at the computer and he wants to play! Linsey - I am beginning to see that the cage in his room is not going to work out. He has began barking when Travis is trying to go to sleep. His cage was put in our room and he is fine. We have a small house but we are trying to find a place to put his cage away from the bedrooms for when we leave.
IM - Sounds good. I only wish that I could talk dog so that he knew if he stopped having accidents, he could sleep on the beds! Shana - You are right. We can always go with the flow to see what happens. I wish your cats would cuddle with you. With Toby being a lap dog, it is soooo nice to be cuddled at night!
Rosario - You are right! Nothing ventured, nothing gained! I think every child wants to sleep with their pet. I think it's a comfort thing for both the child and the pet!
Meggie - Thanks! That is my thought too about waiting til house broken. Unfortunately after this long he is still having accidents. We read up in a book that papillions are one of the hardest to train. It most of the time takes up to a year! I hate to keep them apart that long but..who knows. Me and my soft heart don't think very well with my head!
They are friendly sometimes and like being stroked, but they don't sit on our laps and won't be picked up or hugged.
By the way, what I've discovered about posting is that you need to make sure you didn't accidentally leave a space at the end of a paragrpah or tv.com will just run it on. So you need to make sure that a fullstop is your last character, and delete everything after that
