Howzit braddahs and sistas?

I'm trying to keep the blog flame burning over here so this is just a short update on what's been happening in my world these days:

Finished Uncharted last night and I loved it, it was my kind of game. Beautiful to look at, tight gameplay (at least shooting -platforming could be a little sketchy at times), cool story. Nice job Naughty Dog, looking forward to playing the sequel soon.

Been playing Persona 3 lately and this has really gotten under my skin. There is so much I like about the game... the gothic vibe is awesome, music is cool, all the Japanese touches are there, the voice acting is surprisingly excellent. I'm glad I followed johnsteed's advice and just went and bought it rather than wait any longer.

So as you can see, if you haven't been seeing me on XBL it's because I've been more on the PS3 recently. No, I'm not buying into the fanboy wars, I love them both, but the PS3 really has grown on me lately.

On the 360 I just started Wolverine, which is pretty good too (and very gory) and Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. I needed a chill game so Banjo is covering that niche for me.

And I finally finished Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney after four months. That was one long game. Next up I was going to play through Chrono Trigger but I don't know if I'm feeling that one right now. I may peel off and take on something else on the DS instead.

That's da scoops for now my fine furry friends. Aloha

Hi bruddah. Sounds like you've been busy. I like Wolverine. I think it's a great game. One of these days I'm sure I will see you on XBL. I seem to just keep missing you.
Posted Oct 29, 2009 1:14 pm PT
@kellymae - I'm still getting on XBL, it's just all you eastern north america peeps are usually sleeping by the time I get on. If I get on early at 6pm it's already midnight for you guys. Usually on the weekends is when I see General, Dan, etc... on the weekdays I see Casey and Ben (when he's not in coast guard training), and Seth on PSN since they are all west coast. I used to see James but he's MIA again. Works been busy too, and I just had 2 days of classroom HR training (Snooze City) and now I'm playing catch up in the office.

Dude, check out Ratchet and Clank Future. Its the first Ratchet game for the PS3, I am playing the second one now, and its an awesome funny chill game!

Every time I see "howzit" I compulsively shout it in true Trey Wingo style. Way too many years of watching ESPN...

Wolverine was definitely gory, but I thought surprisingly good. Plenty of easy achievements to be had as well. Banjo on the other hand was the last game I almost broke a controller over. For whatever reason I couldn't play it as just a chill game. I think I foolishly made myself try to get the TT tokens instead of just enjoying it.

@tiggerboy - That one's on the list for sure... \

@tierdome - We all like it that he says Hawaii stuff all the time, makes us feel a part of the rest of the nation instead of figuring out what time the game is on. HOWZIT?! I've been pretty chill with Banjoe so far, but I'm just doing the first set of challenges so they are pretty easy. I'm hoping it stays that way in Showdown Town, but I expect not.

Hey, who told you I was furry? I just finished Batman so I feel like I actually accomplished something gaming. 'Course, it only took 6 hours to beat...

@mprezzy - I just had a fuzzy fantastic feeling about my funky fresh friends and their body fur.

i just got a PS3 myself.. been playing little big planet, and noby noby boy. also checked out the bayonetta demo and played a little heavenly sword. although, i much prefer bayonetta. heavenly sword is too much like GoW and the combat is monotonous. bayonetta has a lot more variety and style.

@just_nonplussed - I was just watching footage from the Bayonetta demo, very cool. It's wild when she gets all nudie and uses her hair to make a huge, um, hair monster I guess you'd call it.

cool and Uncharted 2 looks much better than the first one event though I havent played it you should really try it out.
Posted Oct 29, 2009 3:41 pm PT
@reo-117 - Uncharted 2 looks awesome... I'll be waiting for it to drop in price though so I probably won't be playing it until the spring.
Posted Oct 29, 2009 3:44 pm PT
Phoenix Wright is a great game, it was one of the first I got for my DS. And BTW, a true non-fanboy doesn't have to explain or justify which console he plays so just enjoy the games!
Posted Oct 29, 2009 3:58 pm PT
@Mjoanne - True that, system wars are stupid. I really liked Pheonix Wright, I have Trials and Tribulations and Justice for All, along with the Apollo Justice installment. I didn't realize how long these games take to play them!

Uncharted 2 is even better. The levels are much better designed. There are actually many uses for the stealth moves and up close combat.

Saving money is always a good thing, but there is a difference between saving money and simply delaying the spending of money.

@mprezzy - so you blew through Arkham Asylum on easy without solving any riddles? WTF Prezzy?

WTF

Cool cool. I really want to play Uncharted. I've been going on random online shopping spree lately (HDMI cables, Timex Iron Man marathon watch, Bluetooth headsets, Gioteck PS3 grips), maybe I should just keep the ball rolling. What's that you say? Christmas shopping? What about gifts for others? Silly, they don't want video games and tech gadgets. They'll be fine with extra bag of cheetos I won from Subway...
Posted Oct 29, 2009 4:23 pm PT
@johnsteed7 - I really started to worry that it would disappear entirely, but it seems to have gotten a new lease on life with Persona 3 FES, which is the version I got. Now I've to keep an eye out for Persona 4, right now it's still fetching $30-40. \

@yeah_write - Oh yeah, they'll be prefectly happy with a little bag of cheetos. They'll forgive you eventually...

'Sup Scotty? Nice to see you're enjoying your PS3 a lot. I really wanna pick up Uncharted 2 some time. Then again, I have MW2 and AC2 on my list too, as well as a few others. Did you finish Uncharted before playing the sequel?

Keep it real braddah!
Posted Oct 29, 2009 8:22 pm PT
@synyster-666 - 'Sup Dil...

lol... No man, it was the first Uncharted that I played through, it was one of those that I got for my birthday. I busted right through, enjoyed it the whole way (except for a couple of pain in the ass spots).

O'snap! Should've read that properly. I have this tendency as of late to see a number 2 at the end of the word Uncharted, wherever I may see it. Sowwie.

How come you havent added me to xbawkz live? Is ...... .... is there someone else? T_T
Posted Oct 29, 2009 9:28 pm PT
I'm playing Uncharted a second time through. I hate the endlessly spawning pirates but other than that I love the game. I'll be getting the second one next week.

Oh and I'm on central time, I just stay up really late. It's usually one or two in the morning when I see you on.
Posted Oct 29, 2009 9:57 pm PT
@GodeModeEnabled - I didn't know you cared for me in that way... I feel... special. I smell a goat nearby.

@Setho10 - That's right, ChiTown. I barely see you guys on, maybe a little bit in the beginning. Usually most people are off by the time I'm on except for the west coast peeps.

I approve of this blog.
Posted Oct 30, 2009 4:59 am PT
Persona 3 was KING, I think I beat it in like 63Hours
Posted Oct 30, 2009 5:14 am PT
@johnsteed7: WTF? No! I blew through the game picking up about 40% of the trophies as I went through the game. Now I'm wasting time easter egg hunting for trophies. Yay. I'd rather watch paint dry.
Posted Oct 30, 2009 6:56 am PT
@tiggerboy - I second that! I'm playing it as we speak! It's an awesome game. By the way, I find Banjo Nuts&Bolts to be one of the best looking platformers on any system. Great choice, by the way.

@mprezzy - that is why I recommended some other games to help you with your boredom.

Oh, and I'd edit that last comment before a mod sees it. Seriously.
Posted Oct 30, 2009 4:38 pm PT
@johnsteed7: I don't care.
Posted Oct 30, 2009 5:08 pm PT
@mprezzy and @johnsteed7 - crazy bastards... are you guys really on each other or are you kidding around?
Posted Oct 30, 2009 5:38 pm PT
I guess he's not kidding around, since I got modded.
Posted Oct 31, 2009 5:22 am PT
Well I was kidding around, but some mod did not seem to realize that.

My first ever mod! I almost feel proud.
Posted Oct 31, 2009 6:04 am PT
@mprezzy and @johnsteed7 - Someone must have directed them to it, not many mods save for Bryan cruise through here, every once in a blue moon Gabu comes through. I certainly wouldn't have reported it. Oh well...
