Well, hello children. Yes. yes, I know, I'm not really blogging lately and I barely comment, and blah blah blah... Anyway, I'm here.
So - after watching Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture (hence the new banner), I have officially fallen in love with David Bowie (not that I didn't before, but seeing him live in action like that just sealed the deal). I mean come on:

Okay, sorry, I'm done
.
Also, there's a new icon. Doctor Who. It's the 10Rose kiss from Journey's End. I mean, it did feel a bit wrong that she wasn't with the real doctor, I think the writers kinda failed to establish the fact that HumanDoctor was the same as the original and that he and Rose had the same great chemistry, but still, my little fangirl heart nearly exploded when they finally kissed.
Woohoo! After many complications, I have photoshop again! Yay! (my brother accidentally deleted it when he reformatted the hard-drive)
Top 20 BtVS Episodes - part 3
#10: Lover's Walk (3x08 ) : This is one of those wonderful Spike-centric episodes. And besides the main Spike-wants-Dru-back plotline, it also had a very funnysadintersting sub-plot of the whole WillowOz-WillowXander-XanderCordelia thing. Buffy and Angel are trying to be "just friends", which is something I really didn't care about, but at least it lead to Spike amazing speech about it ("Love isn't brains, children, it's blood"). I loved Spike's pathetic drunken-ness ("oh my head, I think I'm sobering up"), and how desperate and determined he was to get Dru back. I was sad that two of my favorite couples broke up at the end of that episode, and I felt really bad for Cordy. She and Xander were my fav. couple at the time. But I think the best moment of the episode was when we realized Oz's sarcastic voice sounds just like his regular voice (mostly 'cause I do that too)
.
#9: Fool For Love (5x07): So, did I mention I love Spike? I love that we finally got to see a little history. Spike's not-as-glamourous-as-you-thought-it-would-be past was just wonderful to watch. I love seeing that he was really William The Bloody Awful Poet. And that when Dru turned him, it was actually kind of painful. We saw how he got the name, the attitude, the accent, the scar, the hair and the coat. We saw the evolutin of Spike. And by the end of the episode, when he went to kill, but eventually consoled Buffy (I consider this episode, btw, to be the beginning of Spuffy) I realized That he has always defined himself by the women he was in love with (a high society poet-wannabe for cecily, an evil vamp with Dru and a trying-to-be-helpful good-guy-vamp with Buffy). Plus this is an amazing two-parter with Angel's Darla. Watching them together was an enlightening experience.
#8: Conversations With Dead People (7x07): this was, by far, the best episode of season 7. Everything from Buffy's funny and insightful conversation with Holden, to Dawn's creepy haunted house experience. The episode was so wonderfully scary and funny and sad. I really cried during Willow's conv. with CassyThe First, it was just heartbreaking. Jonathan and Andrew's little adventure aroud the new school was just really funny, up until Jonathan's beautiful speech about how he misses the people from high school, and then, of course, his death. Buffy finally realizes what her personality complexes are, and those two seconds where they showed Joyce's body on the couch scared the bejesus out of me. Oh, and Spike is killing again. Good times. And all of this is just wrapped up in one of the best, most amazing songs ever performed on Buffy.
#7: Passion (2x17): WOW. Angelus finally becomes a truly frightening villain in this episode. His ongoing speech about passion throughout the ep. is one of the best peices of writing ever featured on the show. And the way he killed Jenny was just... I mean, he didn't even drink from her, he just snapped her neck, like she was nothing, and how he put her in Giles' bed like that was beyond cruelty. That scene of Giles going up the stairs and discovering the body with the opera music playing in the background is absolutely horrible and brilliant at the same time. But my fav. moment is after Giles tries to kill Angelus and Buffy punches him and tells him she can't do this without him. I just love their relationship. It's my favorite (romantic&non-romantic) relationship on the show.
#6: Earshot (3x18 ) : Yes, this episode is brilliant, but I can't really explain why I ranked it so high. It dosn't really have too much plot significance, it's a total standalone, it's funny and wonderful yet not that amazing, and still - I love it. I loved hearing everyone's thoughts - Xander thinking about sex, Oz's existential "ramble", and Wesley's "look at Cordelia... No! Don't look ant Cordelia!". I loved seeing everyone interrogating students to find out the killer ("Hi Mr. Beech! I was just wondering, were you planning on killing a bunch of people tomorrow? Oh, it's for the yearbook!"), and then Buffy's beautiful speech to Jonathan which hit right on the teen angst target. Oh, and the killer was the frickin' lunch lady! (Which Xander predicted - "See, I've been saying for years that the lunch lady's gonna do us all in with that Mulligan Stew." "I mean, what the hell's a Mulligan?") How hilarious was that??!
Well, next time it's my top 5.
Cheers.
(Oh, and 10 points for the people who recognize the quote at the title) (it's not that hard)

It seems that we like several of the same shows as well.
Glad to hear you got photoshop back.
Lover's Walk is a great episode, love all the Spike stuff. I like to think that his return in this episode is what really made them decide to bring him back as a series regular. It is a sad episode as well though. I feel so terrible for Cordy not only because of what Xander does to her but she gotta seriously injured on top of that ouch. And poor Oz. It was so sad to see them both so hurt.
I consider Fool For Love the best episode of season of Buffy, I loved that we finally got another Spike-centric episode but was even more pleased that it was a full on lore episode. We got to see so much of Spike's past, both as a vampire and a human. It was fanfreakingtastic as I like to say. I had liked Spike as a villain long before this episode but this was where I started to like him as a character if that makes any sense, I began to like him for his depth and changes before I just liked him as a villain and for his hilarity and cleverness.
I can't say I'm that fond of Conversations w/Dead People but I will say that it's an episode I appreciated and enjoyed more after a couple of viewings, like it took me awhile to really enjoy it. Willow's scenes are so sad, Buffy's are great and Dawn's are really creepy. I also really the ending with Buffy killing Holden and finding out Spike has been up to his old tricks.
Passion is a surprising episode. I mean after Angel turned I knew it was inevitable that he was going to kill someone, it was going to happen it was just a matter of when but that didn't make it any less shocking or terrible. I didn't think it would be Jenny and seeing what he did to Giles, putting her body in his bed, was so cruel and heart breaking. It's so hard to think that even though it's not Angel it's still Angel.
I adore Earshot, it is so underappreciated. Hearing everyones thoughts not only Xander's, Oz's and Wesley's but the random students and people in the halls of Sunnydale HS is so much fun. Plus the interrogations are an absolute trip! Willow is so awesome with Jonathan and I love Oz and Cordy asking their questions too. Great stuff. Plus the villain! Who saw that coming, not me! I mean the lunch lady? Whoa, plus when Xander walks in and spots her poisoning the food it's like OMFG! I couldn't believe it!
I'm loving your top 10 so far, can't wait to see which episodes you put in your top 5. Oh and sorry for the long comment. I do that.
hehe...I actually don't know that much about David Bowie, but it's cool that you saw him live
I can't wait for your top 5 on btvs

It's nice to see people liking my choices
Yeah, the Oz sarcasm bit was at the beginning of the ep. when their talking about their SAT scores. Yeah, I listened to the commentary. Twice. I really enjoyed it. Yeah, oh, I always use that as an excuse for him too. I think Spike was always a special vamp. I think he did have a little bit of soul left in him.
I have mixed feelings about LMPTM. On the one hand there's this great episode, with a lot of Spike in it, but on the other hand they totally ruined Giles and his relationship with Buffy. It feels kind of wrong to me.
Go watch Earshot again. Trust me. It's an episode that I wasn't too impressed with at first (I liked it, but not as much as I do now), and then I just fell in love with it after afew viewings. It just gets better everytime.
Hey, it's okay, I like long comments.
othforeverlove: Hey, thanks! Nice to be back
Nice to know
xlovedust: Yeah, it's nice to be back. Istalling the photoshop was such a b*tch, cuz I didn't have the original copy I had last time, so I had to download it... And there was a virus incident... And, uh, badness
I think Joss & co. realized how much Spike brought to the show in Lover's Walk. Oh, I felt so awful for Oz. His reaction, as always, was underplayed, but it was just heartbreaking to him so hurt. He's such a good guy, he doesn't deserve that.
Yeah, FFL was so revealing and interesting. It was reaaly great to watch, how after all he's been through to become Spike, he's really just William the Bloody Awful Poet inside, and that those words Cecily said to him 120 years ago were still just as hurtful. And this is the episode that really began my Spike obsession, and the ep. that really made me appreciate him as a character. It took me a while to get into CWDP too, but I just fell inlove with it. It was just so dark and beautifully done (from writing, to acting, to story editing). I also particularly love that scene where Buffy finds out about Spike and dusts Holden.
When I first saw passion I expected that Jenny would get away somehow, or that someone is going to come in and save her, like it always happens in television, but it was just such a shock that he actually killed her, that it happened. Especially because she was such a beloved character. I think this is the first time Joss really showed us he's not afraid to hurt the viewers (and the characters) for the good of the story.
I know! Earshot is so unjustfully underappreciated. Oh yeah, I love hearing all the student's thoughts. especially the girl he keeps thinking of how she hates Buffy. Funny stuff. I also love how Buffy gets all freaked out about getting an aspect of the demon at the beginning.
Oh, I love that moment whare Xander sees the lunch lady with the poison and she sees him with the jello, and they both sort of freeze. That's a laugh-out-loud moment for me.
Meh, it's ok, I like long comments
OMG, the 'nemessees' thing was so hilarious! It was such a nice reference to the episode Gone with the whole "nemessis'ssseess.." bit. I love that part of the episode.
CWDP would also make my top 10, Earshot was hilarious, Lovers Walk was great, Fool For Love was nice, and Passion was awesome.
I don't get sick of David either. I love that each of his albums is different. "Life on Mars?" is my favorite song of his. I loved hearing it in the show.
It's nice to know you also.
mafalada: I'm glad I got you to watch Earshot again. I have done my part to society.
angelandspike: ok, good. I hate being spoiled myself, so I wanted to make sure I didn't ruin it for you. "Life on Mars?" is def. in my top 5, but I don't think I can decide on just one favorite Bowie song.
msblakelewis: hey, nice to see you. Hope you'll come by more often.
mafalada
LW is wonderful, I didn't remember the sarcastic voice was in that episode! And the backstory/crossover in FFL is well done, I agree. Did you see the DVD commentary? I think I came to really love Spike with that episode. He was so naive and sentimental as a human. That was always my excuse that he could be kind of nice without a soul. The scene on the porch was so great.
The music in CWDP is wonderful and Spike was a true shocker, here. I did also liked Lies My Partents told me in season 7 and Flooded for some reason.
Passion was so great and sad. Big moments you are talking about. I don't remember Earshot that well but you made me want to rewatch it. The scene with Jonathan wanting to kill himself was special, the rest is blurry for me.
Long comment, sorry. Looking forward to your top 5!
