So me and my friend Aviv (he's a guy) went job hunting today. We went through the entire city and we left our nembers at a few places. The two jobs that seem most likely to pan out could actually work out together, schedule-wise, so I might take them both. The first one is handing out food samples at supermarkets, which is only, like, a few hours a week, so it can easily work out with the second job which is waiting tables at a bar\restaurant. But waiting tables could very well be my worst idea ever, 'cause a) I have the coordination abilities of a one-legged five-year-old with down syndrome. Seriuosly. I mean, running around carrying plates and drinks and trays and stuff? I can already see this ending badly. And b) I suck at multitasking so having to carry stuff, and take orders, and write things down and be nice while doing all of that at the same time has disaster written all over it. But I'll just have to see.

So anyway, we are doing all this job-finding effort for one simple goal: we're planning a trip to AMSTERDAM. Holy awesome. So we're working to have enough money by the end of November, which is when we're planning to go. We're already looking at hostels and flights and dates and stuff and we're really excited. For me it's going to be the third time visiting Amsterdam, but I never really got to "experience" it because the last two times, I was there with my parents, and all we did was go to the Anne Frank house, which, don't be fooled otherwise, is really really boring. But this time we're gonna do the whole Amsterdam thing, including bars, coffee-shops and the red light district. Hell yes.

Lately I've been finding myself 'shipping actual couples, with actual people. It's strange.

I have become addicted to Tegan and Sara.

So - a little tv stuff (spoiler-ish):

Doctor Who (4x11): Great episode. All I have to say is one word (well, one words many times) - ROSE. RoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRoseRose. OK, I got it out. Iv'e been waiting for this fo so long. Call me a crazed fangirl. Cuz it's probably true. And oh, when I saw the trailer for next episode... I swear, I was having, like, a.. a.. a geekgasm. I can't wait, damn it!

Weeds (4x01): To tell you the truth, I was underwhelmed with this episode, though it was really great to see Mary-Louise Parker on my tv screen again. Though some parts were really really great (some bits of dialogue here and there, Celia's interrogation), it basically just felt like it was laying the groundwork for the rest of the season, which I will of course watch.

Top 20 BtVS Episodes - Part 1:

(oh, you should probably know, I'm a big season 5 fan, and a huge, big Spuffy fan. You've been warned)

#20: Blood Ties (5x13): I think this is the first episode where I realized I kinda like Dawn. The whole sequence where she finds out what she is and then cuts herself is very powerful in my opinion, and it really touched on subjects of self identity, and was interesting to watch. Plus, there's a bunch of great interactions between the characters, like when Buffy goes to beat up Spike, and his nails are still wet . Funny stuff.

#19: Intervention (5x18 ) : Honestly, I'm not completely sure why I love this episode so much. Maybe it's the Buffybot ("Hey look, it's Spike, and he's wearing a coat!" "Angel's lame. His hair goes straight up and he's bloody stupid" "Hey, you look just like me! We're very pretty"), maybe it's the Spuffy action at the end, and maybe it's the hokey-pokey stuff in the desert. And maybe it's all of that. I just love this episode.

#18: Selfless (7x05): an entire episode about Anya? How could I not love it? The whole bit at the beginning with Olaf is hilarious, and it's very interesting to finally see Anya's past and how she became who she is. Overall it's a pretty bitter and sad episode which talks about how Anya always used to define harself by what she was doing and who she was with and not by herself. The only thing that bothered me about this ep is Buffy's really quick decision to just kill Anya. That sort of came out of nowhere.

#17: Chosen (7x22): Although Anya's death is one of only two things for which I do not forgive Joss about (the other one being Cordelia's story arc in Angel s4 resulting in her death in s5), I usually just supress it and try to look at the other cool stuff in the episode. All the Spuffy scenes were totally great (and so cute!), how Buffy believed in Spike, and finally told him she loves him (don't care what Spike said after that, I think she did mean it), and Buffy's speech gave me tingles. Everything rocked it this episode, a lot of funny going around in it, and I actually cried during the Buffy/Xander/Willow/Giles scene in the high school. Really nostalgic.

#16: Dead Things (6x13): Probably one of the darkest episodes of the show, if not the darkest. I love how it dealt with buffy's need to punish herself for the way she's feeling and treating everyone else. It finally showed how the most idiotic villains on the show became, in a way, more evil than all the other bad guys, because they were human. I mean, one minute they're stupid high school boys, the next minute they become rapists and in the moment after that they commit murder. This is the ep that really turned the season into the dark season that it is. I like that. But my favorite parts were, of course, the Spuffy stuff, in the most deeply dark period of their relationship. I know many people did not like it, but I loved it. Oh, and the final scene where buffy finds out she didn't come back wrong and doesn't have an excuse for her behaviour and how she breaks down in front of Tara... Brilliant. Sarah's acting was great in this episode.

Well, sorry for the longness of this blog, but whatever.

So until next time - toodles.

Hey! I hope you get the jobs. Maybe you'll just get the first job and second one will go to your friend. If you planning to go to Amsterdam, is it going to be with you and Aviv? Because that sounds fun! I would love to bring friends on vacations. I really love Tegan and Sara! What is your current favourite song?

Well good luck with the whole job thing, it doesn't hurt to try the waitress job even if it doesn't work out at least then you'll do and hey if you do both then you'll still have the other job handing out free samples.

Amsterdam sounds like such a cool place and doing it up right, seeing the red light district and hitting bars is the only way to do it. My aunt and uncle did a trip there and they loved it.

I do like Blood Ties, it's one of the few Dawn-centric episodes that I really like. As you said the scene where she finds out the truth and then confronts Joyce and Buffy are both very powerful. Great Spuffy scenes too.

Intervention is good for three reasons. One the Buffybot and her awesome lingo, two Spike is really touching in this episode keeping Buffy and Dawn's secret and his little explination at the end and three Buffy and Spike's first kiss. Wow, that was great in a really pure sweet way.

I like Selfless, I really like that they finally did and Anya-centric episode it was great to see everything about her past over the course of her very long very versatile life. She's not my favorite character but these kind of episodes are always great.

You know not to play Joss's advocate here but it was Emma's (Anya) choice. She asked Joss to kill Anya because she felt she her characters time was over and anything more, should there be some kind of return to the buffyverse, would be unnecessary. But I love Chosen it's a kicking finale that makes me cry, makes me feel inspired and just enthralls me the way any good finale should.

Dead Things isn't a favorite for me I didn't mind Buffy getting dark but this is a little to dark for me it makes me feel...I don't know not right. It's the same thing with the Spuffy relationship I love the idea of them as a couple and I didn't mind their semi-dark stuff but once and awhile, like in this episode, it just got a little to dark for me.

Sorry for the long comment.

Hmm... Right now Back in Your Head has just been on repeat for days and days. Love that song.

Wifu4evaneva: Hey Emily! Thanks, hopefully I'll get the jobs, and really hopefully we'll have enough money in time. Tegan and Sara are amazing, I only wish I would have discovered them sooner.

SMGslayer97: Yeah, it couldn't hurt trying it, I just hope to not get fired after two days. Yeah, we're thinking of where we want to visit in Amsterdam, and now we have this never ending list of places to go. It should be amazing.

Up until Blood ties I wasn't too crazy about Dawn, but after this episode I just kind of "got" her, so I kinda liked her from that point on (but only kinda).

I just love Intervention, mostly for the Spuffy parts. I just love their first kiss, although Spike looks like someone ran over him with a truck or something.

I really love the one-character-centric episodes like Fool For Love and Storyteller, and Selfless is just another Brilliant creation. it gave a lot of isight about Anya.

It's not so much the fact that it was done, but the way they did it. Like it was nothing, like it didn't matter that she died, no one saw her besides Andrew, not even Xander, it was kind of insulting to the fans of the character to do it like that. Besides that, Chosen is one of the best tv finales I've seen.

To tell you the truth, the first couple of times I watched Dead Things, I didn't really like it. I felt very uncomfortable watching it, it felt like the writers are going too far. But over time I began to really see all the layers in it, and this episode crossed a line the writers understood they needed to cross if they wanted the season to feel as dark as they were aiming for. For me, this episode is a can't-look-at-it-yet-can't-look-away-from-it case.

Meh, it's ok.
