Well, It happened, my 360 did the old Red Ring of Death...again. But again I must say, thank god for warranties. I just brought it into my local Best Buy and replaced it. Unfortunately, all data is lost as they weren't able to transfer my files unless I coughed up $60...In their dreams. Luckily for me, with the recent price drop of the 360 I was given back an extra $100 in store credit. And knowing I'd probably need another warranty just in case, I used part of that credit to purchase one and the rest on Band of Brothers DVD set.

Also snagged Geometry Wars 2 today, and so far it's great and the new modes sure add a lot to mix things up. Question...Why can't I access the multiplayer, Do I have to unlock that too?

O_o my 360 died today with the RROD! I feel your pain. Although I have to send mine in. Grrr...

That's a great deal that you got...$100 back on it. So you were able to get some nice pick ups, that's pretty cool. You wouldn't have since you got money, it's just too bad that you lost all your data

So glad I got the Elite, where that's not an issue.

i love warranties,because i couldn't get a new psp without them,even if i had three of them

@ s0njas0n - No, I guess it's company policy that I'm unable to switch hard drives. Damn policies.

@ Sandlot - Losing hard earned data sucks, but it's not the end of the world. I'll recover.

Glad to see a smart person who understands that Best Buy's replacement plan is better than sending and waiting for your 360 to come back from MS. I will probably use my replacement plan to buy an Elite. I know how to take advantage of those plans.

If my 360 died I would have to put it on my credit card I'm saving for emgerciences. I would consider it a emgergency if it red ringed, lol.

That really sucks...at least you got a new replacement just like that, but I'd hate to lose my data But $60 is too much I'll agree.

And no you don't have to unlock the Multiplayer by playing the game...you just need another active controller, because it's local multiplayer only...no online unfortunately.

@ Paul_06 - No online? Gotta be kidding me.

I feel your pain! I went throught the same thing with Best Buy and MS a few months ago (If you have a chane you should read my post on my experience). Hopefully it doesn't happen to you again!

I think there is a RROD epidemic going on around here You're like the 7th or 8th friend that this has happened to in the last couple of months.

That's good you had the warranty though. I should have done that myself cuz I got mine from Best Buy last summer. Oh well.. mine has been fixed though and works better than ever!

Hopefully you wont have any problems with this one. I'm so scared about this happening to me since I'm not under warranty anymore. I really don't want to have to drop $300 on a new 360. And there isn't any online multiplayer with GW2...only local. It stinks but I guess it makes sense since a game like this would suffer tremendously from lag.

that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard... a scam if i've ever heard one. not being able to swap an old hdd with a new one.

Good pick up there on the Band of Brothers DVD set. I absolutely love that mini-series. Sucks about your 360 getting the good ol' RROD. Mine has been fine ever since I got it back late last year and hopefully *touches wood* nothing does. Yeah, kind of wish GW 2 had online multiplayer because nowadays, most people play online while a certain percentage are left with local as they might not have online or prefer local if they do.

Damn Collins that sucks big time...there must be some sort of bug going around killing everybody's 360 ...you might want to blame it on Sands

Sorry hun. That's brutal. Best buy is awesome for replacing the system.
