Hi evoerybody! (Hi Doctor Nick!) I'm back! First off, before you read this, if you haven't already, you may be interested in the blog below this. It's one of my biggest yet. So is this. Not all of the stuff I'm talking about is in the title, so I'll start off with what is in the title.

STUFF IN TITLE:

This actually happened like last week, but I was too lazy to write a blog then. I'm now Level 18, which is a Land Shark! It's the first time I moved up in like a month (I'll be writing my tenth anniversary blog on Sunday)! And again, because of stupid Firefox, I can't copy an image onto this blog. Anyway, I'm almost in the twenties! Yes!

Also, today was the last day of school! After being in the seventh grade for like 10 months, I am finally leaving it behind! Don't get me wrong, I liked the teachers, plus Spanish an Tech cla$$es a lot, but I'm glad summer is here and that we'll be the "top bananas" of the school next year once more! We had a special "Elwood Idol" event, a parody of American Idol, where students got up in front of their peers and, obviously, sang. The whole day of school lasted literally only an hour, but it wasn't wasted doing final exams or anything, which I've been doing practically all of last week.

Besides the last day of school, the second to last, yesterday, was occupied by the 7th grade cla$$ going on an end-of-the-year trip to Splish Splash water park in Riverhead (Long Island, for those of you who aren't familiar). We were there for around five hours and we had mostly a great time. Although, it wasn't perfect...there were many flaws. Here were some of the major problems that happened to me during the day:

  1. The Lockers and Anthony: Me and my friends, Chris, Christian, Thomas, Alex, Justin, Anthony, and Brendan shared a huge locker for $18. My backpack had a cell phone and a camera in it and he was carelessly shoving it into the locker with no attempt to protect what was in it. It turns out, we also rented a second locker for $2 where we put our shoes. But when we closed the huge locker, Anthony took off with the key, separated from the rest of the group. He didn't have a watch, so he didn't know what time it was, even though he had to come back to the exit at 2:15 pm EST. One time, about three hours before we left, he went to the locker to get something, and everything dumped out. Not only did he not care, but he stepped on the bags to get his stuff, and left without putting them away.So our stuff was left unguarded, unsupervised in the middle of the locker area for three hours. Later, when we found him, we saw that he dumped out the stuff. We yelled at him, and then he said he lent the key to Thomas, and he had no idea where the &#*%$ he went, and we had to leave in 10 minutes. Luckily, none of our stuff was severely damaged or stolen, but I was very annoyed.

  2. Lines, Arguments, and a New Ride: We only had five hours at the park. It was in the mid 80s and we wanted to go on everything we could. The rides we wanted to go on the most were Cliff Diver, Alien Invasion, Dragon's Den, and the all new ride that opened the day before, Dr. Von Dark's Tunnel of Terror, which would've been the second ride we rode within three days of opening, the first being Bizarro at Six Flags Great Adventure on May 23. It turns out, plus the rides Mammoth River and the Lazy River, we went on NONE of them!

    Cliff Diver:
it's a slide that goes straight down, 80 feet down in 3 seconds. I was going to go since there were short lines, but at the time, the only one of my friends with me was Chris, who wouldn't go on, even though he went on the straight part of Max Trax, a very similar ride. After we went in the Wave Pool, I swore we had to go on, and then of course, there were LONG lines, and we had to leave in 30 minutes. Bummer.

Alien Invasion: we got on line, but it wasn't moving at all for ten minutes. We left the line shortly after.

Dragon's Den: simply put, LONG LINES ALL DAY!

Dr. Von Dark's Tunnel of Terror: the newest ride, it opened on June 24. It's basically a small funnel completely in the dark. We wanted to go on, but it wasn't working for the first three hours. By the time it did open, me and Chris saw it operating from on top of Hollywood Stunt Rider, another Dark Slide. By then, the line streched for about a thousand feet from the ride, and we only had 45 minutes. Tough Luck for me.

  3. Nearly Drowning / Losing my Shirt: I went on a very small slide called Shotgun Falls. It didn't look like too bigof a slide. The website said it was a five foot fall into a ten foot pool. I knew how to swim, so I thought, "What the heck? I'll give it a shot". Little did I know that it shoots you out really fast and that the slide itself isn't five feet. It's twenty feet with a five foot fall from the end of the slide to the surface of the water! Because it was a body slide, the lifeguard told me to take off my shirt. I took it off and I said "Where do I put it?" and he said "Hold on to it". So I did. I went down the slide and unexpectedly shot me out. I held onto my nose as I entered on a diagonal, which caused my fingers to slip off of my nose. I can't tell you how much water got into my nose and lungs. Even though I knew how to swim, I was basically flapping to get to the edge of the pool, where the lifeguard pulled me out and held off the ride for about five minutes. Christian was giving Chris hand signals, for Chris was at the top, on what happened and why he can't go. Chris thought, "God, something happened to Ryan." I was in complete shock. Fortunately, I recovered within five minutes and rode many more rides. Unfortunately, the shirt I was holding sank to the bottom of the ten foot pool. I asked the lifeguard if he could get it, but he said there was nothing he could do and that I should leave to prevent the line from being held off too long. Some friendly service.

I rode the rest of the rides shirtless, and changed at the end of the day.

  4. Impatience of My Friends: I said earlier that Chris had to rent another locker to put shoes in. Me, Chris, and Christian went to the locker, and even though the rest of my friends clearly said they'd wait for us, they took off anyway! We tried finding them at first, but then just went on rides ourselves. We later found them in the wave pool, then had lunch at the Beach Boardwalk area. They went on another ride, Max Trax, then took of to the freakin' Candy Shop for an hour-and-a-half without telling us. It was really just Justin, Brendan, and Anthony (Thomas and Alex rode again). Some friends.

  5. Impatience of People waiting for tubes: Me and Chris were going to ride Abyss (hey, that rhymes!) in a double person tube, for we wait for one for about ten minutes, buta whole bunch of 16-year-olds just push ahead of us and take the tubes. One guy even said to them, "Wait until I get off the tube!" and they just flipped them over. A 25-year-old man next to us was also annoyed that he couldn't get a tube. Me and Chris said, "C'mon, we have to leave in 30 minutes!" Other kids said "So do we!" for they were from the Hauppauge and Ronkonkoma districts, who also went to Splish Splash with the Elwood District. Older teens said "Too $#@!% bad!" or "I don't give a %$&@#!" We ended up getting two single person tubes, even after being at the front of the line for so long, waiting for doubles. Teens these days.

All in all, a half-frustrating, half-absolutely fantastic day! We still rode on everything else, which is still a lot considering there are around 34 rides. Chris and I rode on Splash Landing seven times! At least we got double tubes then.

STUFF NOT IN TITLE:

While we were coming back from Splish Splash, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, had a cardiac arrest. He had no pulse and wasn't breathing. In Los Angele, at 2:26 pm PST, Michael Jackson died from a coma, or 5:26 pm EST. I wasn't a terribly big fan of him, but his earlier albums, including Thriller, were great. It's still bad that he died and I hope he rests in peace.

Besides that, I finished final exams, and I will get my report card with my grade shortly.

The Kris Show now has a slightly different plot! I thought it didn't seem too interesting at first, so I changed it a bit. Go to http://milknberries.webs.com/bouttheshow.htm for more info. It is still slated for a July 10, 2009 premiere on Milk n' Berries and YouTube.

I got braces on Monday. At first they hurt like crazy, but after three days, they got better.

I finished my pneumatically powered robot arm in Tech cla$$ last Wednesday. It's made of wood and powered by air, but it's still a robot and it works perfectly! I'll try to get pictures of it on here soon.

That's all I have to say for now. peplarry12 has left the building!

It sucks that your field trip wasn't as good as planned. It sucks that you got braces. If you're lucky, you won't have em for over three years like other unfortunate kids. (Me.)

Congrats on becoming a Land Shark! It's incredible how so many crazy/bad occurences can happen at a place designed to be fun.

Nice job with the level, that is the same one that I am on. Braces can be a real nuisance, just got to think about how nice the end result will be. Sounds like a fun day, I'd like to try out that place sometime.
