I guess I am a immature person and every year when Halloween is coming up I get excited and tour many many Halloween stores (while dragging my poor girlfriend along every year) and I guess since I am in the mood for scary stuff I want to make a list of the games that scared the hell out of me in both the past and present day some games will be old as hell or brand new or not even scary so let's start this sh*t woot!!!
Resident Evil director's cut (PS one)
This was most likely the game that started my obsessive zombie fascination I remember seeing the zombie close up at my cousin's house and I freaked out then my father got the game for Christmas and I just remembered how creepy the game was sure it was cheesy but it was first of its kind and it made me just adore zombies
Resident Evil 1 remake (GCN)
Now you can say payne this is stupid you just mentioned the original and this is the same game and I will say your right but this game was a amazing remake and wish other games were remade like this the game got an amazing graphical upgrade and was made much much longer and added new areas and enemies and I remember the same cousin who showed me the original Resident evil was over when I finally went into the log cabin and I freaked out over the monster who lives in the cabin and all he could do was laugh at my distress also it's the only game I know of to this date of when I saw a hallway I said f*ck that I am not going through that hallway or door I won't beat the game I don't care I don't want to go there great game I would recommend it over and over again..hmm might play it again
Silent Hill 2 (PS2)
This game is the only game to date that I got freaked out by absolutely nothing this game is the king of psychological horror there were moments in game that nothing happened but you were kept on edge you could just explore a creepy apartment complex and there is just something wrong with the room you are in there might be nothing in the room but you are just creeped out by it the kicker is the enemies themselves aren't that scary they are more creepy than scary the way they move is creepy the way they look are creepy but they aren't scary the game just has the scary vibe also another thing about the game is you do eventually meet other humans but they seem to not notice what is going on in the town they don't see the monsters or the bloody rooms or walls that bleed blood I remember a semi-funny cutscene where you see a fat guy throwing up in a toilet and your main character asks if he is ok from the monsters? And the fat guy asks "what monsters?" the game also gives you the impression that you are going insane no one sees what you see are you imagining this nightmare? Or are they crazy? are they real? The gameplay might be sticky and controls might not be good but the atmosphere is amazing no game has matched it
Silent Hill 3(PS2)
This game is just scary it does lack the atmosphere that Silent Hill 2 has but it makes up for it by juts being scary there are some moments that just freaked you out I remember in this game that you were in the mental hospital that was in the 2nd one but you kept find diaries of a man stalking you the whole time you were there it was creepy the more you explored the more diaries and the "gifts" inside the diaries you found it just gets creepy he gets angrier and angrier with you also the game takes place in a abandoned amusement park and that was scary seeing a amusement park slowly rust away with the happy bunny characters just staring at you but the creepiest thing ever was there was a room full of mannequins and it had a bad vibe in the game and when I reached the door I heard a woman scream behind me and I turn around and see a mannequin with its head cut off and blood all over it and no enemy in sight
Eternal Darkness (GCN)
This game has its ups and downs there are some elements that didn't even scare me and I was like ehh not that good but other times I was on edge and was like whoa that's scary this game takes place mostly in a mansion during a sun set (so there is some light) but it is still scary the really cool part is there is a sanity meter that when it goes down the game looks like its messing up like your character clips through walls or the game makes the volume bar on your TV down or sees you slowly lose pieces of your body fly off and it's just creepy
Dementium the ward (DS)
A word of warning do not buy this game it is a pretty bad game it's scary but the checkpoint system, controls, and objectives are horrible yet the game captivated me it was just scary you are in a abandoned hospital trying to get out or at least figure out what's going on and the enemies are creepy there was one enemy that scared the hell out of me all it was a flying head that when it saw you scream at you and charge at you and for some reason that made me jump and scream like a little baby plus the game did have the Doom 3 flashlight thing going on and it made the game feel very dark and every room a adventure
Painkiller (PC)
This game really isn't scary basically it's a serious Sam game with blood, gore, Goth looking enemies yet there was this one level in the game called the "asylum" and for some reason this level completely scared the hell out of me you had to fight 1920's insane people in a asylum and besides the fact that they looked scary with them just lying on the floor or with electrodes attached to their head and them screaming their attacks were scary too they jump on you forcing you to look at their faces and it was just creepy there was a ton of them and just horrible to see like 20 of them jump at you
Quake 4(360)
The game itself isn't scary but there was one moment in the game that really almost scarred me for life and that moment is the stroggification of your character basically you watch your character and allies get mutilated and transformed into a strogg (enemy) like cattle it was creepy to see people in front of you getting chopped up and you slowly see your fate and nothing to do about it you see your character struggle and not budging it was some scary sh*t
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask(N64)
One reason and one reason only this man:

He thinks hes a fairy!!!! This is scarier than anything I have mentioned
So I am done thanks for reading I was thinking of holding this off till Halloween comes closer but I am impatient and rather do something new for Halloween (hopefully) so thanks again for reading and a special note some of these games might not be good these just scared me

thanks The RE cube remake is still one of my personal favorites there is so many of them used in stores and stuff I would highly recommend it and ya I can see silent hill games being kinda boring
I agree that he is scary!
Eternal Darkness really scared me when I played it, all that wispering, knocking on the doors, steps coming from upsatairs and etc.
Ya I never saw tingle without that outfit either he just gives me the creeps lol and eternal darkness that was pretty scary the random knocks and stuff I always ran towards the front door because I thought it was the police lol
@ LGTX
I couldn't agree more the game has to set the mood not just have random scares for no reason
Theyre remaking it?
