In Alias you'd get a medium show with an excellent ensemble, not always well written and some of the times it would get repetitive.
Jennifer Garner was the star of this show and she was great on it. Also good were Victor Garber, Michael Vartan, Kevin Weisman, Ron Rifkin and Greg Grunberg.
The show is spy-action packed that got better as years gone by, first season is worse that the last, not all shows can do that. But it's is cast that saved the show so many times for me. When I though seen that already I'm going do drop this show, the cast made me stay...
Some people may take me wrong when I rate some movie, but to me there's no thing to rate movies to other people, I rate movies to my self. I'll try to explain this no sense phrase.
I rate movies for what they meant to me, not what others may or may not like the movie. I never take a movie for granted if another person gives it 5 stars, or if it's a 1 star. I see a movie and then I rated to my self.
I use the 1 to 10 system or 1 to 5 stars (with haves), and they mean:
10 - This is why I love cinema, I can't wait to see it again
9 - I really liked this movie, I have to show it to my friends
8 - I'm happy this movie is better that what I paid for it, I will see it again soon
7 - A good picture, I'll see it again when I don't recall the ending
6 - A relative good picture, I see it when nothing else is good on TV
5 - I like there's some good things, I see it again on a Sunday afternoon with nothing to do
4 - I don't thing they should made this film as it is, it's not bad it's not good, I really don't know what I fill about it or if i'll see it again
3 - I want my money back, this movie does not deserve what I paid for it
2 - What a piece of junk, I want the 2 hours of my life back
1 - This movie made me have rash and if I see it again I'll have to hospitalized
So you may have the same opinion or not. But, that's what it meant to me, and i'm not trying to influence you.
There are a lot of shows in television, and the "cop" shows are the most. So why does 24 can keep audience on hedge for 6 seasons. Simple because of it's best character, The Time. 24 is revolutionary in that state, making it be 24 hours of a day, of a month, of a year no more no less, but 24 strait hours of action.
It helps to have a story line that keeps you each week on the hedge of your seat, it helps that the actors are pretty good, it helps that it talks about Counter Terrorism in a decade that is marked by it. But if it here the story of a team that goes around investigating cells, it would not had this much success. Time, it is really, everything ....
