Well, Vick signed with the Eagles. And I, for one, am very angry. Who would sign this guy? Seriously. He killed dogs. KILLED DOGS! He beat them and trained them to be aggressive, and if they didn't "perform" he executed them or abandoned them. Yeah, he served almost two years in jail. That's not nearly as much as he deserves, though. He should've been beaten, mauled by the dogs he tortured, or thrown into a pit with lions and tiger and various other ferocious animals. He doesn't deserve to have a career after what he did.

And the whole thing with PETA? Well, don't even get me started on PETA. They're a horrible "organization" that shouldn't even exist, let alone get funded by idiots (and no offense to any of you who've given to PETA; how were you supposed to know the truth?). It's a left-wing, hippy, nut-job organization: "We all need to live in harmony with each other, with the animals. We shouldn't eat the animals. We should hug them and care for them and cuddle the monkeys who'd like to scratch our eyes out!" Yep. Nut-jobs. EDIT: Here's the link I forgot to include about PETA's hypocrisy. Click here.

I'd like to hear your thoughts - all of them. Whether you agree or disagree with me, please share. I'd like to get a feel for how other people view this idiot and his new, more famous career.

Vick didn't only kill his dogs; he made sure they lived and died in pain...and for no other reason than to entertain his idiot friends. It's not like he needed the money from a sideline gambling business. He has no business being put back in the limelight for his "adoring fans".

As for PETA, they started out with a good goal, but have become way too militant over the years. Originally, they worked to stop product testing on animals by the cosmetics companies, but now they would put a stop to medical testing which is discovering treatments and cures for illnesses that have been killing millions of people. They even came to an elementary school in Montreal one spring and told the kids that if their mothers gave them milk with their breakfasts, then their mothers were guilty of torturing animals.

Hoeech, check out the link I added about PETA. I got it a while ago in an email. It's horrible.

I have never heard of vick but he sounds like a b*****. I didn't believe that peta would do much good so i don't have a comment for that.

PETA is a horrible orgasnization, they're ANTI-HUMAN. THey want ppl to disappear. Their completely insane. Regarding Vick: I'm ashamed of my state, but I'm not an Eagles fan anyway I'm a Giants fan. Only a crappy organization like the Philadelphia Eagles would have signed that monster. Don't worry, somebody will "take him out" on the field: I bet he hasa career ending injury b4 the season is over in January.

Completely agree on PETA, they are fanaticals with no real purpose other than spewing their lack of self worth to the world.

I disagree about Vick though, he is a scumbag for what he did but what do those actions have to do with playing football? He didnt kill a person, they were dogs! Not condoning the act of killing dogs, not at all, but you cant put it on the same level with killing or even phisically harming a person. He served his time and its a completely seperate issue except for the fact that the Eagles are going to take a public relations hit.... no offense to anyone who doesnt like him but i think yur over reacting when you put his actions into context; i've seen rapists treated with more respect than Vick and i question your sanity if your telling me killing millions of dogs is worse than raping or killing one human being. Later .

I still can't believe The Eagles wanted Vick! why?
I can't stand Peta! I agree with you. They are crazy and annoy me with all the crap they come up with.

@MarWash : I don't even know how to respond to you. Those actions have everything to do with playing football! Don't you think the sport should have some sort of standard for their players? What if they signed rapists or serial killers just because they could play? How is killing a dog any different than killing a human? Usually there are reasons for killing people - jealousy, contempt, anger, mental instability. He killed the dogs for money - for fun, entertainment, and money. He knew exactly what he was doing, he wasn't driven by any sort of emotion that you could look at and think "Well, I can kind of see how he could've been driven to murder, but I would never have done it." Or can you? I'd like to see you justify the torture and execution of dogs. Go ahead. Try.

FYI, rapists are people. Damaged people, sure. Mentally unstable and possibly psychotic, true. Vick isn't any more important than a mosquito, and I'd like to squash him like one.

Killing millions of dogs can be worse than killing one person. Haven't you heard that the act of torturing and/or killing an animal is usually a sign that the person is working up to killing people? This is proven to be true (I don't remember my source, so don't ask for it). I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty sure Vick would've worked himself up to murdering a human if he hadn't been busted for dog fighting.

He didn't serve nearly enough time. He was let off easy because he's famous.

I have 0 tolerance with all and every animal abuser, and actually with all and every abuser for that matter. It is absolutely frustrating how the punishments they get are never enough. I wouldn't give a darn if Vick would be deprived of his life in the same way his dogs were. I think that not all human beings can considered and treated as people, especially ever since they lack what makes us different from animals. As for PETA, I keep reading the worst about them. I thank you for the link, the image that we get here of them is the one of a solid organization with the best morals and principles. Hugs

i dont think Vick should have been let back into the nfl. But then again i dont run it. PETA is looking for a good cause and they do go after the rights of animals. but they some times take it to far

Never said that Vick deserved to play in NFL. My point is that if the league has no poblem with it, why should you or me? Your opinion of him irrelevant, dont watch the Eagles on Sunday... boycott the league... curse Vick's name but dont go puttin him on the same level with someone who intentionally harms humans. What if, what if, what if... what if my aunt Lauren had a penis she'd be my uncle Larry. What if is the lamest ploy used by people who cant debate properly. What if a wild dog mauled you in yur sleep... i can play the what if game too. 8% of people in each age group have committed a violent crime... If we went around banning people from making a living for illegal acts, 49% of the worlds population would be out of work. Lets ban Carmelo Anthony for driving under the influence, he could have easily killed a bus full of nuns. I realy hope you didnt hurt yurslef jumping to all those conclusions. The fact that you think killing a million dogs is comparable to taking the life of one (innocent) person is reason for me to believe you are simply trying to make a point. Compassion for animals is one thing (i love my dog) but if i had the choice to save her or a random stranger from dying... im gonna pick the HUMAN BEING!

Again with the perversion of facts to make a point. Sure, its been proven that the weird kids who burns wings off of flies will likely expand to bigger prey but its also a proven fact that people who are molested as kids grow up to become depressed, anti-social, suicidal, self mutilative and in extreme cases, sexual deviants themselves. So what, you wanna head the problem off at the pass, kill off and lock up every victim of molestation before they have the chance to go either direction?

@MarWash : I can't find a point in your argument. You babble too much. Pick an idea and stick to it.

As for Vick, he got signed because he can still be a great player. Sure he may have served a few more years in jail, but that's how sports works. If you're good enough, you can get signed no matter what you've done, as long as it's not murder.

As for PETA, I never listen to them anyway. But sometimes, and I do mean sometimes, they do bring up a few good points concerning the treatment of animals, like horses used in horse racing. But overall, they are extremely hypocritical and that link you provided just shows how terrible they are.

I saw Michael Vick on 60 minutes, and he said he knew what he did was so wrong, when he heard them close the jail door on him. It was when he saw how it affected his life. I don't think he has any compassion for the dogs he killed. I don't think he ever will. He'll do some public service work, but I don't think he'll ever understand. And I hope I'm wrong! As for the Eagles, I think they made a very bad, bad decision. I wonder if he can have a dog? If I were Vick, I'd name him karma.

Hey Well since I don't really know who Vick is so I can't say too much on this issue. But I did not know that PETA was such a **** organization. I just always figured that they did the right things to animals. Shows what I know...
Hugs!
