So first things first. I promised Anshul89 I would make another story blog, and for a while I've worked on it. But I have had some problems with it, ultimitely leading me to cancel it all together. I was working on a mega blog about an epic journey to find the lost ban hammer stolen by fanboys and how CJ drops Ellen Page and how Ellen wants revenge and stuff. It was really ambitious for a blog. A little too much so. I would have been forced to make a whole lot of blogs, and it would have consumed too much of my time writing them. So I scrapped the idea. So sorry everyone for getting hopes up.
Anyways, on topic:
*ahem*
I have gotten paid recently. Roughly 447 dollars to be exact. Unlike my other cash, which I use for things I need to survive, this cash is special because it's 100% extra. It can be used for whatever I please. Here's my dilemma: I need to do one of three things: I need to upgrade my PC, buy an Xbox 360, or buy a Playstaiton 3.
Firstly, my computer is wonderful except for three things:
1) My case. The case which I have is terrible and gives absolutely no airflow for my computer. This isn't the end of the world because my computer temps have been permissable. But good airflow would definitely be nice, especially since I wont have to check up on Rivatuner every single time I play Crysis.
2) My Power Supply. 400 Watts. Enough said.
3) My disk reader is sloooow. Very, very slow.
SO, naturally, updating these things would be ideal. But I don't NEED them. And this brings me to my problem: I own neither an Xbox 360 nor a Playstation 3. I am missing out on some great games because of this.
The Xbox 360:
Each of my mates own one. I have access to most of the 360 games I want to play within a phone call. But the problem is that it's one thing to play the games, and it's another to actually OWN them. Another problem is that my old Xbox is beginning to have issues. It wont recognize games 9 times out of 10 unless I have been playing non-stop. I believe my old xbox's disk reader could be dirty or messed up. Anyhow, most of the games on my Xbox will work on an Xbox 360... another reason why I would want one. But there are downsides to getting a 360. One of them is online gaming. I will not use my consoles online. I don't have to pay for the internet where I am living, and I get to use my PC and it works great online. I will not purchase xbox live, and I can't even get a silver account because I'm would be over-using someone else's internet connection. Another reason is, obviously, hardware stability. I understand I need to search for and obtain the consoles manufactured with the Jasper chips, but Microsoft has been silent on how effective they are, if they are even effective at all. I will not buy a faulty system, case closed. Each and every one of my friends has had problems with their 360, but each one has had the Falcon model. So I am up in the air about the 360.
The Playstation 3:
As I said, all of my mates owns a 360. None of them own a PS3. I have access, though limited, to Xbox 360 exclusives. I have no way to play the PS3 exclusives. This makes me more inclined to get a PS3. Having a Blu-ray player is also a great bonus. Sounds like the Ps3 is perfect, does it not? Well, there a few issues I would like to point out. The first, and arguably the most important for me is backwards compatibility. I have never owned a Playstation console in my life. I have a massive, MASSIVE back catalogue I have missed out on. I am not going to buy two systems. I don't care if the PS2 is cheap now, I don't have a huge cabinet to store this stuff. I have a small, miniscule space and a reletively small sized HDTV to fit in any console I can. I only have space for one more system, if I even have that. Plus, why buy two systems, when I can buy one and have exactly the same games? If I get a Ps3, I need to get the 60 gig backwards compatibility model. Case closed. Another issue I have with the PS3 is, again, the internet. It's not my internet, and I am lucky to be allowed to play my PC online for free. It seems console games are becoming more and more online centric, and I want absolutely no part of it. This is the reason I praise the Wii: it's a console, through and through. It doesn't mess with online much, and whenever there's multiplayer, you can bet that you can have splitscreen. That is nowhere close to the case with The Xbox 360 and the PS3. As frowned on as they are, how many modern console FPS have bots nowadays? Please tell me, as that would greatly affect which system I buy.
So there you have it. I want a console, but in the end, it might be better to just perfect my PC.
But I am making this blog not as a statement, but as a call for help. I need several things:
1) I need to know what I should buy, and why: Upgraded parts on my PC, an Xbox 360, or a PS3.
2) I need to know a list of console FPS that have splitscreen and bots.
3) I need you to tell me how pretty I am. Just do it, damn you!
