Until I played some Quake Live. Then I realized I had not lost it all along.
Allow me to explain:
I used to be great at FPS. I used to enjoy playing online a lot, and I would see pwnage almost every single match I would play. I spent time with Quake 2 and 3, Half Life death match, and occasionally with friends, Halo. But as the years past, I found myself enjoying online games a lot less. And I haven't played very well either. There are exceptions. TF2 is an absolute blast and a good default online experience of this generation. But when I play games like Counter Strike: Source and Call of Duty, I feel that something is missing. I lost my groove.
But then I played Quake Live. I played the bot on the hardest difficulty to set me up with people of my skill level. And then I joined a match. I joined in the middle of the game, and the people were pretty good. But, as I played, I got really sucked in. I started out poorly, but as I progressed, I just started to perform really well. Five minutes later, my score is doubled what the next highest player was.
I fair well in twitch FPS. That is the conclusion I came to. That is why I suck. Because twitch shooters are non-existent in the gaming world today. That is why I love Quake Live. You just go in guns blazing, using your sheer reflexes to succeed. To hell with all the tactics, to hell with the 'nade abuses (COD, I AM LOOKING AT YOU!!), just give me a gun and let me go all out.
My user name on quake Live is organic_machine. Look me up! ![]()

Anyway, yeah carljohnson3456, check it out. It's really fun. Even when I am losing, just going all out-no tactis-balls to the wall is a total blast.
