Its 1:54am and i just got back from Gamestop and got my copy of Halo:ODST. My girlfriend was using my internet so I havent had a chance to jump online yet but i've started the campaign and its pretty good. I put it on normal (not wanting to be a wuss but not overdoing it) and right off the bat i can tell the campaign is way harder than the last one. It definitely involves alot more strategy than the previous ones. In the previous one's there was pretty much one path you take and fight covenant that pretty much all do the same thing, but in ODST, there are building that you can go into, go up 3 stories, come out the top and snipe, or come out on the 2nd floor and run across the bridge fighting the hunters head on. Anyway, this isnt a review so ill wrap this up, but i cannot WAIT to get down on some multiplayer and try out this new firefight mode. The one thing that kind of bothers me is that you are obviously not Master Chief and thru the story you play with different people, and none are as strong, can jump as high,or can duel weild. But it is a definite MUST BUY.
peace
P.s. Also just got a PS3 Slim ![]()
Hello again. Just an update. I've been mostly concentrating on classes and homework, also concentrating on my xbxo whenever possible. Sadly my xbox live is messed up for some reason, so i've been unable to download some content that i've heard people talking about
.
Anyway, I just finished Prototype. I didnt think that I would be able to finish this game when I first started it, but the more i got into it the more i really started to get into the story. It gets pretty intense, especially with all the little twists and turns in the plot. There is something called the "Web of Intrigue" which allows you to devour certain people (most who appear randomly on the street) and give you a little 45 second video which adds to the whole story. I think there are like 100 of these people scattered throughout the game (i only got 44%) but i definitely think this adds a cool new aspect to the adventure game. I definitely recommend it, my review is posted if anyone cares to read.
Today I bought Wet, which i had pre-ordered. It is a pretty good game. I usually don't like too many 3rd person shooters, they are usually hit or miss, but this one is pretty good. It is definitely made like a movie, tho the storyline so far is kind of lacking....:/. The gameplay is fun though, there is alot of "slow-mo" gun fighting and the aiming is kind of hard to get used to, but once you do it starts to get more fun. I am on chapter 4 out of 12 so far btw. It is not the best game i have ever played and i really dont think it has any revolutionary aspects in it, but it is for sure a good game, i went back and forth between 7.5 and 8 for the rating and i decided on 8 finally, halfway hoping the story will start to get better.
Between this and Fight Night 4 and Batman (which i've been ignoring kind of because evcen though i keep playing it doesn't meet my expectations from the hype it generated...) i've been keeping pretty busy. I'm kind of "T-ed off" because i didnt get my emblem for the hero bracketts
. If anyone can help me with this i would be eternally greatful! But i am happy that i have gotten 40pts so far, which, by looking through a few people's brackets, is kind of high i guess. I didnt think i'd do this well, but im happily suprised.
Anyway, thats whats been going on recently, ill update again in a few days. And for those who are on the fence about Wet, im going to play some more, maybe get half-way through, and then ill post a review and you can decide for yourself if you want to drop the $60.
peace.
Hello again, those who choose to read.
Just leveled up again. Some might wonder why I am only a Nobunaga's Ambitioner after more than 4 years of service to Gamespot. Well, my relationship with this awesome site **brown nosing** has been an off and on one. I started this account in my early years of high school. Something to do during my classes I chose not to pay attention in (almost all). I would sit there looking over the previews for games that now have become staples in any gamers collection. I also would try and think of every game I had ever played at dropped a rating for it. Alot of oldschool games as well as new ones, alot of PS2 games (hence why i had the PS2 emblem) and PC games as well. After a became a senior I drifted away from the world of video games, which I had loved so much and basically just played multi-player games like CoD and Fight Night Rnd 3 with all my drinking buddies and didn't really concentrate on any single player games or RPGs, my personal favorite genre.
But, thankfully, now I am back to playing games. Playing games and taking classes. Now, concentrating on Xbox since my PS3 still isn't working and I cannot seem to fix it, I think ill just wait for the slim and grab one of those when I can save up some cash. Anyway, pretty much half-way through Prototype, a really good game, I gave it a 9. At first I had given it a 7.5 because it did have a slow start, but after getting into it I really like it now. Also playing some Batman, which i don't really like as well.
I really can't wait for this new Halo, it looks like it's going to be really good. Hopefully it doesn't have a suffering campaign mode like the game right before it. I will probably be concentrating mostly on the multiplayer, so those who get it for Xbox, hit me up and we'll get down on some Deathmatches and this new "Firefight" or whatever.
I have, like most of you, have been checking on the Penny Arcade updates and there are a few games that are looking really good. The new CoD looks like it's going to be sick, aswell as the new Halo, and the new racer "Blur". The game that really caught my eye was one I hadn't been following, called Heavy Rain. Looks like a really deep storyline and the graphics look like they are going to set the bar for games to follow.
My favorite game that's news has been updated is the new Star Wars: The Old Republic, an MMORPG. The screens look really cool and watching the video's and the clips on the OTS show have me not being able to WAIT for this game. I must have it! lol. I can already see this game sucking up 99.9% of my spare time and probably dropping my grades by multiple points. Anyway, hope everyone is doing well, i'm doing ok....having a few issues in my personal life, but Gamespot isn't really the place for these things. Will probably post up again in a few days. This blog thing is kinda growing on me 0_o lol. Peace all.
