For some god-only-knows reason, todays games have some of the best and the worst writing in history. For the life of me for instance, I couldnt figure out why they had the story-line for Assassins creed so convoluted. The Secondary story line, following altair, was fantastic, if over abreviated. There was truly no reason for the extremely confusing Primary story following the two scientists and Altair's descendant. For the life of me i couldnt figure out the ending, i mean, i got it, but it just left so many more questions. Left a lot of open ends. Probably on purpose to let in a sequal. But there are many moe examples, this game being the most recent and worst of the offendors. It would have received a perfect 10 from me except for its shortness and its storyline. As it is, the secondary storyline, interactivity, graphics, and incredible game-play get it a 9.5 in my book.

On the other end of the spectrum, there are some games with fenominal writing. You may note though, that Assassins Creed is forgiven, not only because of the greatness of the game as a whole, but because it can have a good secondary storyline and still be a sandbox-style game. Youll notice that the games with the best writing are always fix-mapped, individual primary mission oriented games. With, of course, the easter eggs here and there. For example, the relativley recent Metal Gear Solid SnakeEater. One of the best storylines of all time in my opinion. But, as you would note, the gameplay is drastically different from anything in a sandbox style game. As it stands, I believe the future of gaming will lie in the hands of the man that can take the best aspects of several games and put them together. This can apply, of course, to many environments and situations. To take the amazing story of MGS:SE, combine it with the interactivity and graphics of Assassins Creed, the sandbox style capabilities of the grand theft auto series, the options of destiny of the fable games, the options of life(clothes, rides, weapons, etc.) of the gta series, with the option of the map size and massive online multiplayer capability of Worl of Warcraft. Do this, and the games will sell themselves.

I hate that i am forced to write this blog, but the media has gone to far. We are spending, as a country, close to $40billion on a war that no one supports. Not only that, but we dont even get to hear the half of whats going on. Its ridiculous, it really is. And, on top of that, we get to sit through a 30min segment on how some actress showed too much boob, or some wrapper did drugs and went to rehad, or even, the mother of all wastes of time! The 3-day coverage of Britney Spears shaving her head! LIKE I CARE!!!! LIKE ANYONE CARES!!! Its just to keep us thinking that everything is going ok. I know its not just me, does anyone else notice that everytime something major happens, namely something bad, like katrina, or the iowa floods, or the war in iraq hitting a new high in fatalities, it gets, not only a 4min segment, but the media comes out with about 3x as many goofy, silly, who gives a crap stories. Like, for instance, when katrina hit, we had 2 talking dogs, a waterskiing squirrel, and a midget playing basketball. Its only AFTER the news is old news, that they give it SOME of the attention it warrants. Its not always their faults, granted, but its happened too many times to be coincidence. Noone knows why, maybe its the government, maybe its the media's fear of the wrath of the government, or maybe they actually think that makes us happy. Well, media, when I wake up at 5:00 to get ready for work, i want some real news on. The last thing i want to see is a 20min segment on a talking dog. My dog makes noises that sounds suspiciously like words too, doesnt make him talented. Trust me, he is dumb. Its either a coincidence, or a parlor trick, not a show of intelligence. If the goal of the media is to inform the public of what is going on in the world, they are scraping the bare minimum of acceptable. And even then theyre cutting it close. I think that if the media doesnt have a second gear, they should turn in their mics and cameras and leave it to somone who isnt afraid to tell it like it is.

The Dark Knight
I came to this movie expecting more of the same from the batman franchise. I couldnt have been more wrong. And never have I been so happy to be wrong. We all grew up with the joker, and thats what he was back in those days, a jokier. But Heath...

Pablo Francisco, put simply, is the greatest comedian to come out of Arizona ever, not saying much. But in all sencerity this guy can take any funny voice you ever heard and turn it into a 10x more hilarious story. Most well known for his Keanu...

A great comedian, but I think he played on his fame a little to much with those advertisements. My favorite bit of his is when he makes fun of GWB(not that hard), but I like anyone who does that. His John Madden is a little over the top, even for...

3:10 to Yuma
They say its the best sense Unforgiven, but they arent even in the same league. I pity the western that has to follow this act. And I shudder to think of the kind of film that could rival it.
