As many of you know I am playing through Final Fantasy VII for the first time. I am very pleased with what I have experienced so far. For years all I heard about when people talked about Final Fantasy VII was the death of Aries. So, finally I decided to see what all the hype was about and play the game for myself. I'm glad I did. So, I was playing along and came to the scene where Aries is laid to rest by a certain villian. I was expecting so much more. I mean, it was sad, but I don't think there was enough emotion put in to that scene. Square could have really done a better job portraying this. I heard from many people that they cried and got all upset, but for me, I was just like "eehhh" ok Aries is dead. Don't get me wrong, it was a real turning point in the game, and I feel bad for Cloud, but it could have been so much more than what it was. So, I was just writing this little blog to see what all of you thought about that scene. If you need a refresher you can find the link below.

Well I felt sad, though not like WAAAH sad but it was definitely touching. The reason you may not be so affected by it may be because the game is from a while back, a whole decade in fact. Back then such a simple scene did have a lot of meaning, without all the hot graphics and extra dialogue attached to make it work correctly. But hopefully you'll get a little something out of the rest of the game.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who felt that way. Yeah, I did ge the "Oh crap" shock value, but it was more so because a main character died. Really I was never that attached to Aeris as a character, and her relationship didn't seem to grow so much with Cloud up to that point.

Bro, you said it all when you mentioned how often you had heard about the scene before you even played the game, so of course you weren't deeply affected. You knew what to expect so you didn't let yourself get too attached to Aeris.
